Our dog (a rescue) is large. Figured out years ago that he has food alergies. Found a brand with Kangaroo and oats that he can eat. In January they quit making it due to the forest fires in Australia killing the kangaroo. (I guess they are like rats down there, so they opened them up for shooting and they used it in dog food. But the fires killed a lot of them so they stopped the shooting.)
Anyway - just found out they are going to deliver a bag of it!! So I guess things have changed.
$108 for 30 pounds.
I had probably 5 bags of the stuff stored away so that lasted us for awhile. Tried some other dog food with terrible effects on him.
The last 2 or 3 months he’s been eating hamburger meat and oatmeal. (The 30 pounds for $108 sounds cheap to me now!)
Grow up, the world is much bigger than your pissant sequestered insignificant life.
WE ALL LOVE OUR DOGS!!!

Dogs are people too.
Mine was a once-in-a-lifetime cat, no other ferals from where they got him. Danged thing helped me get through a major bout of anxiety attacks.
Don’t know from whence you hail but the wife and I found a Shih-Tzu rescue out of the blue one day, and I HATED ankle-biters. Love the little thing, he’s so damn ugly he’s cute 🤣🤣🤣
Good point!
Well aren't you special? And a slandering dirtbag to boot. You have no idea about how much I've traveled, but you have no problem shooting off your misinformed crude mouth to allow us a glimpse of the low person you are.
My sister’s in-laws bred Pembroke Welsh Corgis for show and let them pick out a pup from one of the litters. She was an absolute sweetheart. My mom, who grew up afraid of dogs, talked baby talk to that little dog and gave her treats.
Over the last 40 years every one of my 16 partners have been pound puppies, both male and female.
(some were youngsters when I adopted and some were quite a bit older, but all OUTSTANDING BOYS AND GIRLS)
Wouldn’t go any other way.
Takes a little while to learn each others habits, both good and bad, but they have all been, and some still are the GREATEST PARTNERS a human being could ever want.
“You also won’t find pure breeds”
That’s not true; I found my HONEYBUNNY (a purebred English Mastiff) at a shelter in LA County, she had some health problems and some hip displasia.
Her previous owners threw her away like a piece of garbage, their loss, my REAL GAIN for 11 WONDERFULL YEARS.
I always use to tell her; BABYGIRL, you better be good, remember you cost your daddy his brand new Springfield Armory M1A rifle.
SHE WAS ALWAYS THE BEST GIRL!!
The other one I got is a purebred KANGAL from the the animal shelter in Weaverville, Ca.
His name is Clifford (as in the big red dog), I figure his previous people got him when he was a tiny puppy and just thought “HE’S SO CUTE”, not realizing he was going to grow up into a 150 pound bulldozer
I got Clifford when he was about 4 months old and already a 60 pound galoot.
Clifford is now 2 years and 2 months old, the last time we were at the Vet he was 157 and he’s still got about another 8 to 12 months of growth to go.
So, yeah; you can get “pure breds” at the pound, you just have to visit a lot of pounds and pay attention.
Good to see you, Doc.
I’m in Iowa, and nice dogs are scarce. We frequently have our young grandchildren here, so we need a dog that loves everybody. We had one that was supposed to be that way and wasn’t. Now we can’t find any good dogs around. It’s sad. I would get a cat, but my husband, sons, and daughter are all allergic to them.
In my county I am allowed to have 8 four footed kids, it’s called a “pack license”.
I am now down to just 5 of my boys and girls, HONEYBUNNY, PENNY, and ROSIE are all waiting for me at the “RAINBOW BRIDGE”; all of natural causes, at home, with my Vet in attendance.
If you looking for a Bernese Mountain Dog in that weight range you must be looking for a midget or a runt.
Males are in the 110 pound range and females are about the same upper range, lower range for females is about 75 to 80 pounds and males are about 80 to 90 pounds.
“Do you think you’re being funny?“
I find it kind of funny. But I find your reaction odd. Dogs are not people, they are animals .
The PETA type of outrage here on FR is odd. More of a liberal type of thing.
I hope you are way more outraged at the almost 70 million human babies murdered by abortion.
Pit Bulls have a bad rep because of the stupid people who misuse them!
Shame - cats, and hen you pick right (and no, I don’t - the wife has a magical touch when it comes to critters, brought home that damn feral, hissing, clawing nasty-as-could-be Persian and it turned out to be my best friend) can be an awesome friend to have around. She does it with dogs, too - regular Dr. Doolittle she is.
After my old RAWLLY died, I swore I would never have another dog, hurts to much when they go.
It took me 5 years to figure out what a DUMBASS I was.
Went to the local pound and found Jack laying in a cell that had a sign that said “VICIOUS DOG, DO NOT TOUCH”.
I looked him in the eye and asked him “are you a vicious dog”?
He just kept looking at me so I stuck my hand in there and when he gave me a great big slurp I told him he was coming home with me.
Me and old JACK had 14 great years together and he was already an old fart when I brought him home.
Don’t waste your life waiting around for the perfect dog, your boy or girl is probably at the pound waiting for you right now!
GET OUT THERE AND START LOOKING, don’t waste any more time!
You sound as bad as me, and yes, any body hurts one of my boys or girls, they better have their life insurance paid up; at my age “LIFE IN PRISON” don’t mean shit!
