The customer then pulled out his legally owned firearm and shot the suspect, hitting him in the neck. The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics around 10:30 p.m., according to police.That section of the story gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. It's better than a Hallmark movie.

Latest Philadelphia homicide “likely to be very quickly ruled justifiable”
@phillypolice
tell FOX29 News. 53 yr old armed robber with prior arrests was in mid-hold up of WINGSTOP on Cottman Ave past 10pm & was shot&killed by customer with concealed carry permit

yes and no
his weapon was taken by police
that just should not happen unless solid evidence is given that counters a self defense usage

Until the family and bottom feeders file the civil suit. Wrongful death will probably be the starting point. Self defense? Yeah, we know that but.............

At least he was polite by asking for the money before he died on the scene.

Nice take out.
The only problem with the story is that the police have the shooters gun.
Should not ever, ever happen in a clear self-defense situation.

Unless the 27 year old shooter has deep pockets, any civil suit is unlikely. No shyster would waste his time on it. Maybe sue the restaurant, but their involvement is negligible, no fair-minded judge would let it proceed, and the complainants - including their lawyer - might wind up as defendants in a perfectly reasonable abuse of process suit.
