McConnell: ‘Let’s not have any lectures’ from Democrats who denied 2016 result

President Trump should not be expected to “cheerfully, immediately” accept the outcome of the contested 2020 race and is “100 percent within his rights” to challenge the results, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said in a speech from the Senate floor on Monday.

In his first remarks since Joe Biden was called the winner of the presidential election based on projections, McConnell defended Trump’s use of litigation to challenge vote counts in various states and blasted Democrats like Hillary Clinton for claiming Trump would try to steal the election.

For four freaking years now!

And bracketed by video of first Leftwing political operatives with a PAC bragging about personal knowledge of crimes they, the party and then candidate Clinton committed and not the candidate himself bragging about the scope of the voter fraud machine.

Didn’t Mitch get a visit from Barr today?
Maybe old Mitch got the “news” firsthand on what’s going down.

“I don’t know if I can trust cocaine Mitch when he says stuff like this.”

In this case he’s right.
Just because he’s right this time doesnt mean he’ll be right next time. To divine right and wrong... my own judgement will i use. I will not be railroaded into advocating for Everything he says just because he’s got this one right.

The difference between then and now, of course, is that the Democrats know they cheated, they know they were incredibly sloppy in covering up their cheating, and every day this goes on more people -- Democrat people, even -- start looking at them kinda funny.

I’d bet it’s as simple as this: he got polling that says that the base is sick of the GOP establishment seeming to welcome Biden and be deeply saddened that Trump is fighting fraud that erases their votes. So he’s talking tough. He’s good at that. But there will be no action, it’s just more political theater from a party that never means anything it says.

Okay, so pulling out just his quotes, it's better than I expected.

Let’s not have any lectures, no lectures, about how the president should immediately, cheerfully accept preliminary election results from the same characters who just spent four years refusing to accept the validity of the last election and who insinuated that this one would be illegitimate too if they lost again — only if they lost... The people who push this hysteria could not have any more egg on their faces than they do right now.

The president has every right to look into allegations and to request recounts under the law and notably the Constitution gives no role in this process to wealthy media corporations. The projections and commentary of the press do not get veto power over the legal rights of any citizen, including the President of the United States... Our institutions are actually built for this. We have the system in place to consider concerns and President Trump is 100 percent within his rights to look into allegations of irregularities and weigh his legal options.

Music Lesson for the Democrats in the Field:

Sing early, and your jail time will be minimized; Sing really early, and you may only get probation.

yes- it was posted in several threads...it was also posted, and i don’t know how true it is, a tweet which says the DOJ is not allowed to get involved until 10 days after the election...sounds fishy but interesting none the less.

Never forget that 13 Russians employed by a troll farm bought $150,000 in facebook ads — which the Dems insisted swung the election to Trump.

But when the depth of Dem fraud is exposed, they’ll tell us it wasn’t enough to make a difference.

Half of America views the other half as the enemy. It’s time for a divorce, and we can do it the easy way or the hard way.

Over the years Mitch and Linda have gotten well deserved criticism on this board, That said, hundreds of judges, 3 supremes, impeachment and now both of them have stood for the fight. I say credit where due

Leader Mitch McConnell gave an excellent, reasonable and clear speech today. He added a smile at the end. Cheaters will be exposed and every one of them will be found.

The Press is illogical and unethical to deny Trump’s reasonable time in court. USA News is wicked garbage.

Yes. And anyone who complains about a lack of substantive action on the part of someone like Mitch McConnell should keep in mind that the U.S. Senate has absolutely no role in the presidential election at this point.
