The pandemic versus the economy defines the presidential contest in two key battlegrounds, with Florida holding firm to its toss-up status while Joe Biden leads slightly in Pennsylvania in the season's final ABC News/Washington Post polls.
There's little change in either state. In Florida, Donald Trump has 50% support among likely voters to Biden's 48%; it was 51%-47% in an ABC/Post poll Sept. 20. Trump won the state by 112,911 votes out of more than 9.4 million cast in 2016.
In Pennsylvania, the race stands at 51%-44%, Biden-Trump, a 7-point advantage for the Democrat; that compares with a 9-point margin late last month. Here, Trump's 2016 win was even narrower: 44,292 votes out of nearly 6.2 million cast.

Polls shifting all over the place, all in Trump's favor.
Rather, polls are trying to save their reputations.
They knew nobody would care if they were 7 points off if Biden won, and they knew their ongoing chorus of BS from every media corner was good for several points.
But if they believe Trump is going to win, they will narrow all battleground polls.
As we have seen.
This pollster/fraudster movement from “Propagandist” to “Saving my Job” mode.
At this point, not sure what polling really tells us.. we have lots of other data points like early voting, that have a MUCH bigger sample size than all the polls combined.. I’m guessing Team Trump (and Biden have already stopped internal polling). Ad buys and final campaign rallies are set.
Keep praying everyone . . .our country is at a crossroad.
They are willing to assume a bit more credibility risk in Pennsylvania with their poll, because they have about the biggest chance of voter fraud there.
It would really spoil their election night, if PA got called early, during prime time.
Hey it’s Nov 1!!!!
And the debate was almost 2 weeks ago??
Here I’ve been upset that the debate was only a few days ago since it would have less impact on early voting..but it was TWO Thursdays ago.
I’m losing it :)
3 more days!
Oh please.
If PA minus Philly can’t deliver the commonwealth for Trump, we are in deep doodoo.
Oh look. The shocking last second shift in the polls toward Trump. Like that wasn’t expected....
7 points down is not a great poll.
I don’t think ABC is conceding to Trump with Florida as they are calling it a Toss up even though Trump has 50% and Biden 48% by Abc calling Florida a Toss Up they are trying to diminish the lead Trump has there in my opinion.
They never give President Trump any credit for anything ever. The media and their polls can suck it.
No way in hell Trump loses florida. He may even win moami- dade.
“7 points down is not a great poll.”
Yes. But it is down from their last poll where Trump was down 9. Point is they are showing tightening polls which is predictable.
In elections past, those were the most accurate polls. Also, those were the best at finding stats on voting patterns or each demography.
On Election Day Team Trump has an awesome ground game. They have been building data since 2015, and didnt stop when the President was elected in 2016. They know who their voters are. They know who their newly registered voters are. They know who has voted already. They know who to call if their vote isnt in by Election Day. Team Biden doesnt have near the ground game, especially since their Worker Bees, the Unions, have mostly endorsed Trump.
These polls need to use more descriptive words. How about BS?
Exit polls in 2004 were way off. They had Kerry winning and even announced it prior to polls closing.
I think what happened in 2004 hearkens back to the 2000 results. There were many mutual recriminations among the MSM and other Democrats that the early call of Florida for GWB made Democrat voters in the Central-Timezone Panhandle give up waiting in the long polling station lines and go home, and that that number could have been greater than the number by which Gore lost FLA to GWB.
So 4 years later, with the MSM controlling the Exit Polling as usual, I suspect they deliberately manipulated the numbers to call the race for Kerry, so that Bush voters would give up and go home, especially in the FLA Panhandle, since everyone always assumes each election will be a lot like the previous one.
IIRC, they called the entire national election for Kerry even before noon on election day, based on the Exit Polls, right? Because I remember liberals rejoicing all day that it was a done deal.
And their absolute certainty that Kerry had already won is what led to them being so deranged afterwards, with conspiracy theories all over the place, including even one that Kerry had deliberately "thrown" the election to Bush, based on some cockamamie story related to the fact that both Kerry & Bush had both belonged to Yale's Skull & Crossbones Club.
The thing driving all the theories was: "(1) We were all told early in the day that Kerry won. (2) Therefore Kerry *DID* win. (3) So it can NOT possibly be true that Bush won, and therefore something is rotten in Denmark! We just have to find it!"
