Coronavirus can significantly impact brain function, causing mental decline equivalent to the brain aging 10 years, according to an alarming new study.
A study of more than 84,000 people in the UK found that the virus left even those deemed recovered with “chronic cognitive consequences” that it compared to dropping 8.5 IQ points.
“People who had recovered, including those no longer reporting symptoms, exhibited significant cognitive deficits,” the study published on MedRxiv said.

Why is this surprising to anyone? COVID is a blood pathogen as well it causes microclots in a good percentage of people it infects. When not if these clots enter the brain they cause cellular death at the location of the clot. The cumulative effect of losing thlaw brain cells is lower cognitive abilities. No conspiracy theories needed it’s just an effect of the clotting. This is also why doctor’s are seeing a increase in heart attacks in COVID patients of the clots get into the cardiac arteries and form a mass than a cardiac event will happen again no conspiracy needed. COVID does nasty things to a percentage of the population it’s not just some flu to people who have a yet to be identified genetic or immune system susceptibility to this pathogen. Some people don’t get all that sick others it’s life altering long term damages.

Even if true, Trump has PLENTY of IQ points to spare.
At least 50% of scientific studies are false. The number may be closer to 80%. This is a huge problem in science in general, but especially in “soft sciences” like psychology or medicine. It’s safe to say that this is a bogus study. Unless they release the entire study for review.

People’s IQ drops as they get older? At what age does that start?
This only occurs if the patient is very elderly with pre-existing conditions and gets a septic infection causing encephalitis. AND it’s extremely rare.
