Authorities have charged a man for allegedly lighting a ballot box on fire and damaging dozens of ballots in Boston over the weekend, police said Monday. The Boston Election Department said 87 of the 122 ballots inside the dropbox were legible and able to be processed, but the rest were destroyed or unable to be counted.
Worldly Armand, 39, was taken into custody late Sunday after officers matched his appearance with the description of a person wanted for the alleged arson, police said. After a query by the officers, they found Armand was wanted on a warrant out of a local court for receiving stolen property. He will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on a charge of willful and malicious burning.
Police said smoke was coming out of a ballot box near Copley Square early Sunday morning and firefighters extinguished the fire by filling it with water. The Boston Police Department released photos to help find the culprit.

There is in person voting in MA all week. Just go vote. I went last week. There were four people there...including me. It’s a safe. It’s easy.
Why would you walk away from a ballot when you can actually cast it?

One of the Boston TV stations had this on. The ballot drop box is right outside the Public Library.
The library has the highest concentration of homeless people in the city of Boston.
This guy looks to be your typical drunk/drug addict/street person. Maybe he was just trying to get warm on a cold New England evening.
It's Boston's way of saying 87 Biden votes were counted and 35 Trump votes, um, weren't.
Vote in person—early or on Election Day.
Put your ballot in an envelope, have it sealed, and put it into the ballot machine yourself. No fraud, no destruction by crazies, no other disruption.
Socially distanced, masked, not too many people anyway, COVID-free!!!!

I am dead set against ALL of this tomfoolery around elections, extending counting deadlines, expanding mail in voting, voting early, ballot harvesting, etc.
One thing I am MOST adamantly against is “ranked voting”.
The fact that, when you explain it to most people, their forehead wrinkles, should be reason enough not to enact it.
But my Blue State (MA) is going to do just that on election day. “Ranked Voting” will be approved, no doubt at all.
This won’t have any effect at all on Presidential elections (yet) and in this state, which has been subject to One-Party Rule for decades (disregarding the pathetic RINO governors who have held office since the Seventies) will have a huge effect on down-ballot voting.
I will be surprised if any non-Democrat candidates take office in this state again. Ranked voting will Stalinize the single party rule by Democrats completely in this state, and in states where there are still Republicans being elected down-ballot, it is simply going to make it harder for them to win.
Just watch...
I wish the days and hours were consistent for every state....and they should be.
Time to recalc how many machines and workers we need in the future.
I do NOT like being forced to mail in because of inconvenience caused by the Election Boards.
