The U.S. economy added 661,000 jobs in September and the unemployment rate fell to 7.9 percent, indicating that the economy continued to add jobs even as coronavirus infections rose across many states.
Economists had forecast an addition of around 800,0000 jobs and a decline in the unemployment rate to 8.2 percent from 8.4 percent last month. So Fridays figures missed on job creation but beat on the unemployment rate.

This is good news. The article doesn't mention the revisions to July and August which were excellent. Basically a quarter million job revision UP. That helped the unemployment rate to come down quite a bit.

Great news.
POTUS will be tweeting about it. He’s probably gone nuts having to rest, I imagine he’ll be tearing up twitter lol

Below 8% before the election. This was the Obama Target in 2012; That was the magic number for a President.

What was the peak unemployment rate at the peak of ‘shut down’? 19% seems to be the number I remember, but not sure.
To: Religion and Politics
Would have been much better if Dem governors deliberately didn't keep knockdowns going solely for the purpose of tanking the economy. That will backfire on the Dems.
Still, the figures are pretty good.

Unemployment will be below 6 on Nov. 3.

A drop of 1/2 a point in unemployment brings us under 8% and into what the media used to accept from Barry as the new normal.

I strongly suspect that those numbers are still being impacted by the shenanigans Zero’s dept. of labor introduced into the analysis of them. There is no way in hell that unemployment is less than 8% right now.

The weird thing about the unemployment rate is that it can actually go up as more jobs are created. People who once gave up will re-enter the workforce.
That's why the pre-covid Trump economy did so well for minorities. Rather than relying on a government check, many discovered they could actually get a job.
And that, my friends, is why most liberals hate Trump with a purple passion. They will tell you it is his style, his arrogance, his temperament, etc. But it is really his policies which were encouraging their slaves to leave the liberal plantation.

One isnt counted as unemployed after you drop from the counted labor force.
I think that one drops after 3 or 6 months.
In 2019 it was 63.2, now its 61.7...

WINNING! Now, liberate the Blue states and lets all get back to work!
Liberate Wisconsin! Liberate Michigan! Liberate PA!!
But I think we need new name for states like ours, which Trump won, but which are afflicted with a Democrat administration.
I dont want to call them Blue States..

If we lived in the same universe we did in 2016 this should be shoe in for POTUS to win a second time. Economy up. COVID down, but Biden still looks to win.
