Some Cleveland businesses aren't taking any chances ahead of Tuesday's first presidential debate and have started boarding up storefronts and offices over concerns of possible unrest coupled with a contentious election season.
President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are set to square off at the Health Education Campus at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Clinic in the first of three debates before the Nov. 3 election.
Griffin represents Ward 6, the Fairfax neighborhood where the event will be held. Given the unrest that has gripped the country in recent months, it has some businesses in the area on alert and taking precautions. Officials at the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cleveland, which sits across the street from the Cleveland Clinic, have raised concerns.
"We have been assured that our building will be protected, CEO Patricia Otter told WKYC-TV. But we are very worried about vandalism.

would they have boarded up if Republicans were protesting, no course now which speaks volumes about these scumbags who are the reps of the Democrat party of today
My bet is that he is a lying sack of $#*+. Anyone who compares our intentionally decentralized power system of political federalism to a top-down chain of command in the military is too dumb to graduate from basic training.

Was it true your post came from the practice range?
Or just the 7-11 across the road?
Need a soft drink and large popcorn to watch the peaceful BLM protests.

sitting here watching the choppers now around the airport keeping an eye on the ground game prior to the political elite arrive.
Hoping to see either AirForce One or the Beast.
GENERAL PROTEST GUIDELINES
- Always assume that you may be arrested when going to a protest. Make contingency plans in case you are in jail for a few days (let a friend know you are going & your employer/family phone number if applicable)
- Write your “one phone call” number on your arm in Sharpie, as well as your NLG (National Lawyers Guild) number. In Ohio, it is 614-NLG-OH77.
- If you are arrested, DO NOT SAY ANYTHING. I would like to evoke my right to remain silent — I would like to speak to an attorney. Then dont say anything else!
- Do not film/publicly distribute images of protesters’ faces; however, make sure to record police misconduct. If you are recording the cops, have your phone sync automatically with the cloud in case your phone gets destroyed, and bring a portable battery charger if possible as video is battery-draining.
- Do not wear contacts in case of tear gas or pepper spray. Try to cover as much of your face as possible to prevent face ID, and as much as clothing as possible without overheating in case of tear gas.
- Make sure to stay hydrated!
- Use Signal to communicate. Texting with other apps can be intercepted by police.
- Use the buddy group/pod system. Make sure to periodically check in on each other. Create a Signal group chat.
- Leave in groups of two or more in case of police interference after the protest. Have a pre-planned, specific plan to leave the vicinity with your group.
- Don’t use face ID, pattern locks, or fingerprint security on your phone. Cops can technically force you to unlock your phone this way. Use a digit code.
- If you take medications on a regular basis, bring a few days worth with you in case you are arrested. However, keep them in the original bottle with your name on it, or they are more likely to be confiscated.
- If you are tear gassed, ONLY USE WATER. Rinse out your eyes as if you had a chemical burn, and do not rub your eyes.
- If it looks like an arrest is likely, we would like white folks to use their privledge to help protect the BIPOC community. White folks can literally surround Black protesters & provide a shield. Do not antagonize the police; this is especially dangerous to Black folks.
- LISTEN TO BLACK LEADERSHIP
- Please don’t kneel with, march with, or otherwise take part in cop photo-ops
Much better than, "Orange Man bad!"
“”LISTEN TO BLACK LEADERSHIP””
Yes massa sir....
Looks like the twitter feed is getting hot.
Several postings of charter buses heading in for the BLM and Antifa protest at Wade Park Lagoon.
What’s Wade Park?
It is the setting for many of Cleveland’s cultural institutions, including the CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART, the Fine Arts Garden, and the Garden Ctr. of Greater Cleveland, Cleveland Cultural Gardens, and the Museum of Natural History.
Lots of European type history in that area.
No, your idiot governor failed you and keep your state shut down for no reason.
And every flu season they will all say they will die if they go in the building and school will go virtual until late May at the earliest.

Yes, its illegal.

So where does it get charged and prosecuted, at state or federal level?
At one time it was. Now we have no law. If a Republican did it. The FBI would arrest them. But now, the FBI probably furnishes their their transportation from State to State. At one time it was unlawful to deliberately block Interstate Highways. Now whether it is a crime or not depends 100% on who does it.
I’m sure the Biden campaign has their BLM buddies all ready to go — at 8 p.m. Eastern time. Then he’ll have no choice but to cancel “for safety reasons”.
>>Among the first protestors to roll in from out-of-state was Tom Moran, a school bus driver from Michigan. He said hes out of work and he blames President Donald Trump for not doing more to control the spread of the coronavirus.
What a “moran”. If Trump “done what he shoulda” as they are saying, this guy would’ve been out of work since January and he’d still be out of work. Of course since he is a licensed driver he could’ve picked up work for Lyft, Uber Eats, Amazon, or other companies.
Having everyone wear masks in January wouldn’t have stopped this.
Having everyone stay indoors in January or February for 2 weeks (not even going to the grocery store or an office at odd restricted hours) would not have ended this “before it began”.
And where does he stand on closing borders? Just the people who live in America should shelter in place but those coming in from infected countries like China and Italy should’ve been permitted travel without quarantine?
What is his idea of what should have been done to completely eradicate it?
If it wasn’t stopped then, there would still be spread and lock down (and hysteria).
“I have no job but I can travel from Michigan to Cleveland to protest”.
And he was making more while unemployed than I have all this time working at my regular job.
