Rather than “require land ownership” I’d be ok with “be a net payer of taxes.”

We have too many voting for a living with no skin in the game.

Who raised millennials? TV and “free babysitting”, aka public schools. Generational blame from any direction is not helpful. But it’s ironic that so many boomers point the finger at the generation they themselves, in many instances, failed to raise properly.

Universities were created by Boomers? They have been here a lot longer than us. Did they become worse in the 60s? That, I would agree with.

I have always paid my own. way and economically enslaved no one. collecting on an IOU is not a “perceived owe”’there was a contractual agreement with the government even if not voluntarily entered on our part. I would have far rather invested the $ they took from me in my own

Well, the same can be said, in fairness, of Millennials. All Millennials are not the same and shouldn’t be painted with a broad brush, like there is a difference between Leftist Boomers and Boomers on the Right.

I suppose I should not bring up the huge amount of collage debt the millennials incurred (and then defaulted on) all on their own either.

Where do they think the money they borrowed so they could play at being drunken whores came from anyway.

The money fairy?

Your stupidity is stunning. Most universities were formed/started in late 1700s-1800s. Boomers weren’t alive.
You think you know history. You think you know economics. You think you know the intricate processes & ways societies work. You think you are enlightened.
You are just plain stupid.

I really believe a lot is in the upbringing, too. Some Millennials raised by liberals are functional but still unhappy. But you’re right, there are many that accept responsibility for themselves and are outstanding people.

The movie is very good, IMO. My wife bears a grudge against me, as I convinced her to watch it with me and she says it has destroyed her ability to enjoy the movie “Singing In The Rain” anymore.

I just found out that it has long been banned from being shown in theaters in the UK.

Very few of TGG paid the 50% rate. The average income tax paid as a percent of income has been relative stable.

The SS tax rate increased from 1% to 3.625% by 1965 with maximum income being taxed started out at $1,000 increasing to $4,800 by 1965. These rates didn’t support the benefits they earned.

If you compare the benefits to taxes paid, TGG received multiples of what they paid in while most boomers won’t see just a return of contributions.

The millennials will receive a fraction of what thet contributed.

even though those boomers who worked and paid taxes for decades earned it, it doesn’t mean I think my generation is faultless....in many ways I detest my generation for its self centeredness and its arrogance.....covid pretty much proved that...

You have to live with mommy because you are too lazy & stupid to learn a viable trade. Does she still change your diapers? Feed you & tell you you’re awesome?
Stop blaming a generation for your failure.

I do agree that not all boomers should be blamed for what has happened. I know many of you did not vote with an eye on how many social benefits you could vote for yourself. I know that, but it will hit just as hard just the same.

Thank you, Jonty. To be honest with you, as a Boomer whose family escaped Communism in Cuba, I recognize the liberals for what they are and I vote as a Christian.

And I wish we Millennials and Boomers could have discussions like this that we’re having! It would go a long way to understanding each other.

Definitely see your point. I don’t understand many in our generation, either.
