MORROW, Ohio (WKRC) — A local group called Holiday for Heroes is awarding scholarships to the two Little Miami teens who were briefly suspended from the high school football team for carrying two flags onto the field when the district said they were told not to.
Brady Williams carried a Thin Blue Line flag and Jarad Bentley carried a Thin Red Line flag onto the field on Sept. 11.

There’s plenty of scholarships for knee bending football players. Why not scholarships for patriotism?
Where were these great benefactors in 1987? I easily would have carried the American flag. Lol. These two young men deserve a free ride for the gross behavior of the school.

Little Miami Superintendent Gregory Power told WKRC “We did not want to place ourselves in a circumstance where another family might want a different flag to come out of the tunnel, one that may be [one that] many other families may not agree with from a political perspective.”
“The players chose to defy the school authorities and the school responded by slapping them with an indefinite suspension.”
This is where I think they went wrong. The players were suspended from the team, not from school. This illegitimates the action as it was not an athletic function, but a political action chosen defying the school decisions and not a team policy. It is possible that with a little more discussion prior to the incident, a meeting half way determination could have been made.
This has nothing to do with the act. It concerns the choice of the students to defy school determined mandates. If they had wished to carry porn pictures out there, and defied school determinations not to, would that change the situation? It’s the slippery slope condition. If one can do something after being told not to and nothing is done, then another can get worse and would expect the same treatment.
It is public the players have been “re-instated” to the team, but the further action will be done by the athletic department. This part is badly handled for a number of reasons.

Stupid rules should not be honored. Also, per stories, the school administrators denied it out of hand and gave no explanation.

You should see the mealy-mouthed beta cuck Superintendent for that school district. One look at his face and five seconds of his voice and you know right away that he is a traditional educational system uber-lib. He wanted to publicly punish and humiliate those boys and show them just who was in charge. It backfired spectacularly and now his job is at serious risk as the voters are threatening the school levy and the Board Members up for re-election if they do not can this mewling menace.

I’ve had this thrown at me before concerning this story, and it doesn’t hold water. You’re referring to Rosa Parks on the bus and her doing what she did didn’t change a thing. To say that it started a conversation about the problem is Monday night quarterbacking. If it was a problem, and it was long before that, then why didn’t it cause a conversation before the extremity of her actions. There are ways to settle problems rather than just breaking rules or laws. If you have a problem with your neighbor, should you just go over and beat him up? All that does is cause more trouble.
We live in a society of laws and rules. Citizens have three choices with these. They can ignore them and do what they want no matter what the consequences, which was the outcome of this incident, they can try to reason with the problem talking to the right people, or they can accept the reasoning and move on.
But what does this teach children? This one taught that if you do what you are told not to, no matter the reason, you will be rewarded.
The school was concerned about the further actions of this nature that may get worse. How about if a couple of kids wish to bring questionable pictures of the prom queen on to the field? Right or wrong? And there is worse that could be taken out there. By being rewarded in this manner, it legitimizes anything anyone wants to do that is, maybe, within criminal law. Does it have to happen first before the action by the school has to happen? Is that a safe way to approach it?
Also, we don’t know what the situation with the flags was. They were on the sideline prior to the entry on to the playing surface and the athletic staff, teachers and administrators in attendance had to see them. Why were they okay on the side lines but not on the field? Had they been cleared to be there? We’ll never know for sure. But if they were not stopped there, were they cleared to be there?
We are having a problem all over the country right now with protests that are constantly turning into violence and theft. The morons in Seattle actually let the protesters take over part of the city. People were killed and the protests expanded. If the city had stopped the takeover right off and arrested and held the criminals, would the protest have expanded? The people in jail wouldn’t be part of it. But they didn’t try to stop them and when they “asked” them they were ignored. And when they stopped trying to contain them, more and more pople were killed, beat up, and robbed. This is just a matter of expecting people in society to not do what they are told not to do and no reprecussions come from it. If they do the wrong, they should expect punishment. And in this case, they did.
Is this what you want your kids to learn? They’ll be dead by 25. Let’s drive a car too fast, let’s have a couple of beers underaged (and then take the car), let’s use dope, let’s break into someone’s home and steal things (hoping they aren’t home and have a gun) let’s scare the neighbor with a gun..... Let’s start a fight with a couple of guys and hope they aren’t backed up....These aren’t unusual, they happen every night. But if your kids think they can get off scott free, then the thrill grows. Until they are in over their heads.
There’s a lot more to this, much we don’t know about. But they did something they were punished for because it was wrong in the way they did it.

Okay, so per your view, we’d still be part of Britain, subjects of the crown. After all, we should follow the rules and laws; therefore we would have paid the confiscatory taxes leveled without representation.
