I have been to Las Vegas twice. Neither time was for pleasure. The first time was a business trip. The second time was to see my wife’s brother, who was dying in a hospital over there.
The whole industry of the city is geared toward people-pleasing. As one who tries to live a godly life, I don’t find the gambling, the bars, the legal prostitution, or the excessive use of lights appealing. The one thing I liked were the handful of Philippine restaurants; at least my wife can feel at home there. It would help if the residents at least voted Republican more often. Was Mr. Root excited about Las Vegas when they had the detestable Harry Reid for their senator?
