Thank you.
Ill know America is great again when places like Las Vegas dont even exist anymore because we have a productive citizenry that doesnt have the time or interest to keep it alive.
I’ll see your governor, and raise you a wHitler...
You believe people trying to tell you Texans hate Abbott? That seems silly.
This reminds me of a similar comment made by Whittaker Chambers regarding socialist/leftist successes vs. conservative/right wing squabbling back in the Robert Taft Jr. days.
—I hope that’s the case but with “ballot harvesting” having been allowed by the recent “special” session of the legislator, I suspect that difficulty can be overcome—
That's pretty much always been the standard Democrat policy in argument for more government. In the past, we have always staved it off with a recognition of what they were up to - and vocal Republican opposition.
This time the GOP meekly went along with it....and is still going along with it.
If we really are at the point where a majority of voters believe lockdowns and mask mandates are keeping them safe, then the Republic is lost.
Should read Robert Taft, not Jr.
When we lived in SoCal, we went to Las Vegas (I refuse to refer to it as just Vegas) at least once a year. It was a fun getaway and we could see shows and enjoy. Then I noticed (probably around 2001-2002) the people walking on the Strip were more and more heavily tattooed and rough looking. Crime started increasing and it was no longer a fun getaway. We now live within 5 hours of the town and havent been in several years. The only thing I have missed is The Beatles Love at the Mirage. We have seen it 4 times and I would love to see it again, but other than that I have no desire to visit Las Vegas anymore.
I dont know what you mean by physically but all the hospitials were financially devastated by the requirement to stop all elective treatments.
One of the biggest money makers at our local (small) hospital was the Sleep Lab.
They stopped all of the testing for sleep apnea and other sleep disorders for three months. The lab could do 4 test a night 5 nights a week. At $7K a test that $140K a week lost income. For a 40 bed hospital that is a lot of lost money.
All of management across the entire Corporation took a 6% pay cut all overtime was cut unless it was to cover a sickness. My wife who worked in the sleep lab was cut to 20 hours a week and had to use vacation time to make up for lost hours and maintain her insurance.
It wasnt COVID that devastated hospitals it was the government restrictions. The hospitals in the US could have handled COVID just fine it the government had sat on their hands.
Bump
Thanks for the reply. I’ve talked to locals, tour guides etc. who say the same thing you do, they never go to The Strip unless they have out of town guests visiting. There are a lot of great outdoor things to do within a couple hours of Las Vegas (I don’t like to call it Vegas either), kayaking on the Colorado River, Hoover Dam, Valley of FIre State Park, which my wife and I have enjoyed.
The illegals who work in the hospitality’ industry in Vegas elected this ass. THOUSANDS OF THEM
NOT the residents of the other counties.
Well, I guess the destruction of a city of 2.2M to fit your perception of what is right should allow us allow to feel good that you are not the president. Your inner tyrant is showing.
“The odds of having a governor this incompetent, cowardly and insane with Trump Derangement Syndrome all at once is somewhere between 1 in a million and 1 in a billion.”
I’ll take that bet, Mr. Root, at even more modest odds, and I’ll take it as a trifecta: Cuomo, Whitmer, Pritzker.
Physically? You dont know what that means? Yes you do
I dont know what you mean by physically but all the hospitials were financially devastated by the requirement to stop all elective treatments.
Theyll recover much of that.
One patient in the ICU for weeks on ventilator then off to specialtry hospital hyperbaric then long term hospital then rehab. 30 year old working person. Two months of it. Multiply that. What that does to insurance is questionably recoverable in the meantime the hospital pays.
Ten hip replace ya does not cover one of these many cases
Kid caught it at a bar.

I thought it was Michael Corleone.
