The audience was visibly and audibly horrified. That movie never seemed to make it to the theaters. Score One for the good guys.
Much later I saw it as a selection on Netflix. Score One for the bad guys.

I’ve used netflix for 20 years or so, really like their dvd/bluray delivery. This is making me really want to unsub.
Back in the 1980s, there was a film called “Silent Night, Deadly Night,” about an axe-murderer who dressed as Santa Claus. I lived in Orlando, FL at the time, and for the people of Orlando, that movie was too much, so it was not shown at any cinema in the Orlando area.
Then at the end of the decade, “The Last Temptation of Christ” was banned as well. I don’t remember how it was kept away, but you had to go to DeLand, a town 40 miles away, to see it.
I remember when Last Temptation came out. I lived down by Universal (on Kirkman near Valencia’s “west” campus.) There was a large billboard that all my fellow students mocked, it was somewhere on Kirkman, and it said, “Does ‘Hellywood’ owe Jesus and apology.”
This was before I became a Christian, but even then, I found the attack on Christianity unsettling.

Netflix has had tons of filthy trash on it for a long time - including dropping x-rated scenes into supposedly mainstream programs - not sure why this is the first thing that was noticed to cause an uproar. It has been messed up a long time.

Because the FCC controls only over the air broadcasting. Your local TV and radio stations fall under FCC jurisdiction, Netflix, pay for radio, etc. do not.
Canceled yesterday. Reason given: pedos must be hanged.
I cancelled yesterday although more because I never watched than anything on it. This just pushed me over the edge. Member since 02/2020.
