An ammo shortage is being witnessed nationwide as Americans react to civil unrest by buying up firearms and the ammunition needed to use them for self-defense.
Gun store shelves in Arizona, long covered with box upon box of ammunition for sale, now host but a smattering of ammunition, and at a much higher price because of the products scarcity.

Yep. Waiting for turbulent times is not the way to stock up.
Our store has a 1 box limit and still can’t keep any ammo on the shelf.
The Cabela’s near my house is almost empty of guns and ammo. They are filling in big gaps on he shelves with riffle cases and targets.
No .45 or 357 Mag ammo. The Manager had no idea when the next shipment would arrive.
Lots of 6.5 Creedmoor on the shelf at BiMart, yesterday. Display case of pistols half empty. What was left, I wouldnt buy unless the need were dire.
With every sale of a box of ammo a Marxist insurrectionist gets its wings.
First thing JoHo will do is shut down ammo factories and ban all imports
Fantasizing realistically ... I live with my wife and dog in rural SW Pa.
If someone comes gunning for me, they are not alone, nor are they in possession of weak weapons
I don't have a machine gun so three or four adversaries would sound like a machine gun from the shots fired.
We can be surrounded (as a LOT of folks can be), so I REALISTICALLY might be able to take out two or three before all hell breaks loose upon our asses.
I might realistically get off a hundred rounds ... maybe two if I'm (we're) successful in holding them off while they get reinforcements ....
What the hell am I thinking ?
Ain't no one coming gunning for a 72 yo guy and his wife that just go to church and shopping.
Stockpiling ammo is no different than toilet paper .... I can USE a box of 30.06 but not if the shelf is empty !
Anyway, I question the massive ammo buying unless you're in an Alamo type compound with your own army .... er .... family.
I stocked up years ago and jut reloaded several hundred rounds of various calibers.
There is also the concept of “If you buy it out, it keeps other people you might not want to have the item from getting it,” you know... :P
if one is smart, its not just about storage. Its about having enough to practice regularly. Defensive shooting skills are a perishable. Minimum practice is once a month.
You have to train, too. That 100 rounds you shoot at zombies has had a lot more than that behind it in practice. Otherwise you might miss.

Yep, A thousand starving armed folks from the city bumrushing your house and your will be overrun in minutes.
I predict it will be the the movie The Postman. Warlords with armies controlling the folks.

Unfortunately that has turned out to be a lethal assumption for no few people in the last couple decades, sad to say.
As for mass purchasing - cheaper in bulk, can get free shipping over a certain amount... and modern riot/home invader group defense can consume a surprising amount of ammo in a shockingly short amount of time even with semi-autos. Based on my experiences in the 92 riots, my weapon of choice is a semi-auto drum fed shotgun and I’m looking at possibly going through 80-100 rounds per engagement depending on crowd size. (Mobs get dumber as they get larger.) With possible multiple engagements in a night, with revisits as the mob ebbs and flows or multiple mobs arrive. Fun times.
Delta 21 has no shortage of ammo or components to make more.
That’s just it. I’ve always wanted to be a warlord, myself. Maybe under the Democrats I’ll finally get my chance. :)

Once they see someone staggering their last few steps dragging their intestines behind them or a cerebellum 30 feet away from it’s former owner they will scatter like roaches. These ain’t battle hardened soldiers we’re talking about here.
Sitting on a AU mine here, but won’t sell the AU!
