South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has dismissed a report suggesting the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was a "superspreading event" for COVID-19 that cost billions of dollars in health costs.
Researchers from the Center for Health Economics and Policy Studies at San Diego State University in California claimed event, which attracted nearly 500,000 visitors, may have resulted in 266,796 new coronavirus casesnearly 20 percent of the 1.4 million new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the U.S. between August 2 and September 2.

Three weeks ago I returned from spending an entire week in close contact with about 150 people from nine states.
It was a youth summer camp and I was the director.
Zero cases.
I’d say no way, but then they say bumble bees are not supposed to be able to fly either...
Good for her. I think we may be looking at the heir apparent to Trump here, guys.
This is a another good very example of the type of “statistical” nonsense that we have been subjected to during this “pandemic”. How long will people keep believing the lies of those who are trying to use a virus for political gain?
This is corrupt. Bill de Blasio wouldn’t allow people with covid to be asked if they attended protests.
I seen a peanut stand, heard a rubber band
I seen a needle that winked its eye
But I be done seen 'bout everything
When I see a elephant fly
I seen a front porch swing, heard a diamond ring
I seen a polka-dot railroad tie
But I be done seen about everything
When I see a elephant fly

Fiction is “just making stuff up”, right?
Yup.
The fact is that the number of new cases on the day that Sturgis shut down was ~64,000 (which keep in mind is that new cases are those people who test positive for having antibodies in their blood when they TAKE the test, but are not necessarily sick) and the number of the daily new cases was ~42,000 at the end of the two-week gestation period after the end of Sturgis, i.e., new cases are declining on a daily basis, thus putting the lie to the claim of a super-spreader event at Sturgis. An actual study found there were only 67 real cases arising out of the Sturgis festival.
Motorcycle ping!............
That’s about as “scientific” as an online poll. .................
Insane.
I live in Florida, which, depending on your county, is much less free than people think, and Ive gone to Georgia several times (which was freer and is now getting locked down by the counties and cities). I didnt realize that made me a super spreader, but I started getting bizarre scoldings from Dem friends (theres only liberals where I live in N. Florida) about my Irresponsibility and how I was going to infect all of Florida with this virus from those irresponsible Georgians, or maybe infect them with my (non-existent) virus. I wasnt sure.
But the crazy sure was strong. Except for some truly terrified people (I know some, but of course they havent been out of their houses in 5months so I havent seen them), this is all politically motivated. But even they know this is just a crock...which is why their leaders dont even abide by these restrictions.
I agree!
BEST female State Governor since Sarah Palin!
Fiction is taking a couple of paragraphs of made-up crap and slapping “Experts say” on the top line.
Let me see if I understand this.
Bob goes to Sturgis. Bob calls home to tell his wife he made it safely.
While Bob is there, a boatload of infected, illegal aliens washes up in Bob’s home town.
Bob returns home.
Two weeks later the sick aliens end up in the emergency room, causing a huge spike in Covid cases in Bob’s home town.
Bob’s cell phone data shows he was at Sturgis, so the huge spike in his home town is due to his attendance there.
Is that about it?
Following the science! LOL.
How many of the permanent residents tested positive and also were hospitalized.
