READ THE POST. Doesn’t matter what you do. If the cops have decided today is your day you DIE. And they don’t get punished.

You believe several police officers conspired together to kill that man?
Strong doors, security windows, and willingness to ignore knocks/doorbells would have prevented this unnecessary killing.

No. Not conspiracy. Unfortunate combination of cops in the wrong mood and opportunity for that mood to turn into disaster. Stop blaming the victim. It’s sleazy.

Far from it. I primarily blame the cowardly "swatting" neighbor who created the tragic circumstances.
Do not open a door with a gun in your hand. Just leave the darn door locked.
Speak to people via the camera/intercom from a nice safe spot in your home or from upstairs window if camera/intercom is not feasible.

The reality is meetings must be courteously scheduled in advance.
I do not respond to strangers making immediate demands of my time.

And if the cops think there’s a hot situation going down in your house, that will NOT save your life. In fact it will guarantee they’re in a crap mood by the time they get in and you die. STOP BLAMING THE VICTIM

There was apparently no "hot situation" involved here, as surviving woman clearly indicated. It was fabricated by caller.
The police should have reported they visited address, found everything calm, quiet, and peaceful, then departed.
Homeowners are not required to entertain uninvited people knocking on their doors. Visitors can make an appointment.

They were called on a domestic violence. That would be hot. Of course you’re right, in the long run that doesn’t matter. The link I sent you wasn’t a hot situation, and the lady followed your advice and didn’t answer the door, AND SHE GOT KILLED ANYWAY.
No, on a domestic violence call cops WILL enter the building. There’s no way they’re going away having knocked but not gotten an answer. Cause if it IS domestic violence, and somebody gets beat to death they’re screwed.
Again TELL THE COPS THAT.
Face it: you are wrong.
You are blaming the victim
and you are sounding like an ASS
We have DOZENS of these types of situations that prove you’re full of $%^&. Now STOP DIGGING

Why the concern about proximity to the front door? If theyre going to kick it in, they can do that no matter where Im standing.

"ALL CAPITAL LETTERS!"
Why are you yelling in ALL CAPS in your post?
It was a fabricated noise complaint. The fraudulent caller even laughed as he admitted he would "modify" his observations to get police to visit.
There apparently was no domestic dispute. They were playing video games. There is no need to answer your door if you are peacefully at home.

Hoping you’ll actually listen. You clearly are not. You’ve been led to water. You refuse to drink. You’re full of crap, you’re victim blaming, and your ideas of what the victim should have done have a proven track record of not stopping cops from killing innocent people. I’ve explained that all to you multiple times, you continue to post the same hogwash. You clearly want to be an idiot. Goodbye. Good luck.

If you speak to them through a window, you don’t need to go to the door. The idea of “Someone is beating on my door in the middle of the night. Let me open the door and find out what they want” is ignorant. Speaking to them through the door just tells them where you are. One of my neighbors got shot doing that.
I never answer my door for anyone I am not expecting. I go on my deck(10 feet up) and speak down to them. With a gun nearby.

Good post. I completely concur. The only reason my door gets opened to knocks or doorbell is if I am expecting visitors.
A sturdy and stout locked door provides extremely valuable time and distance.
Even then, I first look at my camera or through a window elsewhere in my home before unlocking door to verify it is my family/friends.

Shot by the police?
If Im talking through the bathroom window, they know where I am. Id just tell them to call me, or call dispatch and give them my number.
