The Pentagon announced Friday that it is launching a task force to study unidentified flying objects after reports of sightings from service members.
The Pentagon said in a statement that Deputy Defense Secretary David Norquist approved the establishment of an Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) Task Force (UAPTF), which will fall under the Navy.
The Department of Defense established the UAPTF to improve its understanding of, and gain insight into, the nature and origins of UAPs," the Pentagon said. "The mission of the task force is to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S. national security."
The Department of Defense and the military departments take any incursions by unauthorized aircraft into our training ranges or designated airspace very seriously and examine each report. This includes examinations of incursions that are initially reported as UAP when the observer cannot immediately identify what he or she is observing.
The agency first confirmed that it operated a program working to identify UFOs in 2017.
The task forces formation follows the release of videos from the Department of Defense (DOD) of encounters between U.S. pilots and UFOs in April, noting that explanations for the flying objects or aircraft remain unclear.
Bipartisan lawmakers have long pushed for the creation of a body to study UFOs, with former Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) emerging as a chief proponent.
The U.S. needs to take a serious, scientific look at this and any potential national security implications. The American people deserve to be informed, he tweeted in April after the footage of the UFOs was released.

“Tucker has been all over doing segments of the Navy pilots chasing the Tic-Tac UFOs that the Nimitz group encountered.”
DoD releasing that information is either because they’re really stumped/scared, or it’s some kind of disinformation/psyops against potential adversaries.

or because select groups within the Pentagon know they are real and this is part of the disclosure which, from the comments here, will be very difficult for some to comprehend.
Any adversaries that had this tech would have conquered the world back in the Middle Ages, else the Russian or the Chinese have already conquered the world today. The adversary idea is false. Having seem several my self, I know they are real whatever they are.
We are gonna study these things.
Then we will write a report.
Then it will all be classified.
Why do I think there will be a team in the Pentagon made up of a couple of air force Colonels, a couple of LTs, a few staff sgts, and a secretary who just got a two year gig flying all over the country?
What a great deal.
The young kid was almost catatonic! I remember thinking:
1) Someone has pulled a prank on them worthy of a Spielberg movie.
2) These guys are actors and deserve Oscars.
3) "Something" (???) really happened!
I watched V as well and quit watching after the alien opened his mouth and swallowed a rodent whole. Couldn’t take it.
As I remember, it was right next to the shipyard, so it wasn't in a remote area. It was right on the river there in Pascagoula.
There is no way of knowing how far they will go with disclosure or even if the Pentagon officially even knows even a sliver of all that is known by those deep down in the DOD bowels.
Now that swallowing rodents is old hat (just like having an alien burst out of your innards on an operating table), film makers will have to find some new gimmick to gross viewers out.
THANKS, loved the post
We are nothing but insignificant little ants to aliens. We can study aliens all day long but all it’d take is one juvenile alien to zap us out of existence in a nano second.
Maybe the ‘aliens’ like the military restricted airspace precisely because it’s empty most of the time. Like deer grazing at the tank gunnery range, they know a good thing when they see one! /sarc
Moving the investigation to the Pentagon just means that the group will be closely supervised by a general officer instead of some O-6 marking time to retirement. It’s not like the Pentagon didn’t use past UFO scares as a smokescreen for aircraft development.
Hasn’t it always been at the Pentagon?
I think the original “Project Blue Book” was out of Wright-Patterson AFB.
I think that’s correct. But I think that the Pentagon has run it for quite a while now...even before they finally admitted it.
I watched the original back in the 80s and the 2009 version as well. Frankly, I thought the latter was quite quite deliciously conservatively subversive. One of the primary members of the resistance was a Catholic priest, and the alien overlords preached a message of hope, change, universal healthcare and utopic vision that coincided with the start of the Obama (mal)administration. I was shocked that ABC would air it.
It made sense back then to run it out of Wright-Patt as that is the technology lab for the USAF. They would have the analytical tools to evaluate and possibly capitalize on unknown tech. Really only 1 step removed from the Pentagon, so there isn’t much difference I suppose.
Not sure that there is anyone deep down in the Pentagon that knows anything. Some other agency we know nothing about could well be directing this whole shebang, and the P’gon is just following orders so to speak.
Right. And, as unsettling as it is, if at the bottom of this disclosure stuff are real aliens, it is the aliens who are giving the orders...not the humans.
