They need to manipulate kids to accept their views on the last eight months. Indoctrination requires indoctrination centers.

Interesting. I’ve heard talk that the liberal view is that Trump wants teachers to die in schools as they get the virus. Naturally Trump is the bad guy who doesn’t care if teachers get the virus.

I’ve heard other chatter teachers unions have other demands, such as defunding police, and taking police out of schools where officers are in schools, before they will go back to the classroom.

And there’s also been talk, that teachers won’t go back we have that elusive vaccine available.

Sounds like their political calculus is changing.

I think the media has panicked a lot of teachers. They seem to think that if they go back into the classroom, they will surely die. This therefore becomes a Union issue because the teachers want to be protected and basically want to insist on teaching remotely while schools remain closed.

Lots of online courses at the schools but they want the kids back in the dorms. How is that any better? Money-grubbing hypocrites.

Their concern is that millions of kids are not being indoctrinated.

Cave On Reopening Schools

Otherwise, they have to justify the exorbitant property taxes for empty facilities.

Considering how common it is for kids to play outside touching the same ball during all of this, you seriously have to ask about how symptomatic and/or contagious it is among children. I personally don’t feel like snitching on any of them, because I personally don’t feel like living in complete isolation, and this is coming from someone who is relatively introverted himself.

Rush Limbaugh: School reopening debate shows most policymakers ‘have immunity’ from their decisions:

The problem with the decisions by some localities to keep schools closed to in-person instruction this fall, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh argued Wednesday, is that the people responsible for making the final call are typically the least affected by their choices.

“We can’t sit here and let a bunch of people who will never be negatively impacted by this tell the rest of us what to do,” the “Rush Limbaugh Show” host said. “With all due respect, the medical community, people, the doctors, [Dr. Anthony] Fauci and [Dr. Deborah] Birx, they may be brilliant at what they do, but they should not be the people telling us whether schools will open or not. It’s not their level or area of expertise.

GEORGIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT TESTS POSITIVE FOR CORONAVIRUS, STUDENT CROWDS RAISE CONCERNS

“What do they know about it? What do they even care about it, beyond what they think the impact would be on public health?” Limbaugh asked rhetorically. “And they’re just a couple examples.”

The host added that in addition to school reopenings, many officials who have decided to impose restrictions on the larger economy “are not going to be affected by the policy they impose on us.

“You can’t have that,” Limbaugh said. “You cannot have people who have immunity from the policy, making the policy. You just can’t do it. Then what you’re going to have [is] a lot of people who literally have no ability to relate to the everyday problems this virus creates.”

Schools in suburban Richmond are so inept and this kind of corrupt.

They will offer in person instruction but only at the local YMCA. To the tune of $250 per student per week parents must pay to the YMCA.

Otherwise you are on your own and learning “remote”.

They won’t physically open the schools and somehow YMCA personnel are far more immune to anything than public school teachers in public schools.

So do you get it? 3 kids, if they want in person instruction... $750 a week on top of what you’re already paying in local taxes.

The schools are the thing that prevents a mass exodus from many areas. Parents are very reluctant to move kids because it is a traumatic thing especially for adolescents. If the kids aren’t in school this is almost moot. Rat controlled areas could lose even more residents if the Schools remain closed.

the goal of most government unions is the conversion of the entire budget to wages, bennies and retirement.

thats what the “tuition” and instruction at the YMCA is all about.

the teachers unions are gutting the budgets for bricks and mortar for themselves

Its up the We the People...the only ones who can fix that mess

Second, Democrats’ hard opposition to school reopenings has been politically devastating. Third, all the push polls and media scaremongering promoting the idea that most parents shouldn’t and wouldn’t send their kids back to school have failed. The media is still at it, CBS This morning opens their news with stories about dying children in the streets, total misinformation, corrupt to the core.

Sounds like their political calculus is changing.

Or feminist moms are screaming at the Democrats that they will never have a chance to make Vice President if they don't have a place to dump the annoying kids their mothers-in-law forced them to have during work hours. :)

They need to Control the Narrative with the chillun....

A few Leftist teachers were caught on Twitter saying that they don't want to do online teaching because the parents might be in the room with the student, which would hamper their ability to preach their progressive dogma. So, sending kids back to the public schools might not be a great idea. Regardless, parents need to be more involved in their kid's schooling - stop treating it like it is daycare.
