In a move that illustrates new levels of boldness, Russian fighters have seized one of the largest oil fields in Libya. The Es Sider oil field was one of the main economic pipelines for the Government of National Accord. Over the last seven months, the Libyan National Army (LNA) has held a stranglehold on oil exports. The LNA, led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, has struggled militarily as of late, suffering defeat after defeat since June. Now the LNA is looking to negotiate using the oil fields for leverage, effectively keeping the economy hostage. Libyan oil exports have been reduced to around a tenth of their original production.
Over the last month, Haftars allies have taken further steps to save their investment from failure. Egypts parliament approved the deployment of troops into eastern Libya, making Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisis threat of violence all the more real. Egypts involvement is political; it holds a deep resentment toward the GNAs Muslim Brotherhood roots. Russia, on the other hand, is looking for influence and oil. Russias increasing involvement in Libya complicates a wide variety of conflicts. Turkey is the primary backer of the GNA. Russia sells arms to Turkey and is already supporting the Syrian government, which has regularly been at odds with Turkey over Northern Syria. Russias support of the LNA puts them in direct conflict with Turkey on another front.

If they want anything there it is a warm water port, but just like the chinese, they will suffer in Africa
Well, it’s a good thing the French enlisted our help from behind on this one...
What a waste....
I’ve been to libya and Tunisia, have a friend from Libya and an enemy from Tunisia
Lets send Hillary there to straighten things out.
0bama and Hillary destroyed Libya, left it to the terrorists and now Russia is making a play for it.
Brilliant foreign policy!
If I didn’t know better I would swear they are reading the Bible and putting together a war plan
Russia moves to secure its investment in Libya
Who cares? America has been headed down because too many leaders - and followers - have been obsessed with whats going on in distant countries, while ignoring our problems at home. America First!!
It’s pretty amazing isn’t it?
God’s Word never fails!
I wonder if the Euroweenies will be as brave to bomb Libya when the Rooskies are in charge.
No mention of Russia at all
Revelation 20:8 opaquely refer to Gog and Magog in such a way that it is entirely understandable to read it as a reference to two great nations, even if we do not know which nation that may be:
And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.the Bible does not describe a nation of Gog and Magog. Gog is a country, but only in the book of Revelation in Ezekiel's prophecy he is the king of Magog.Turkey contains Gog, Magog, Meschech, Tubal
The entire piece references to Cambyses, who invaded Judea about seventy years after the temple had been destroyed, and perished by the hand of God, at Ecbatana, upon Mount Carmel
Ezekiel talks of Cambyses invasion of the lands in 500 BC. It’s not about Russia - which didn’t exist and may not exist in the future.
And it’s not about attacking libya.
[0bama and Hillary destroyed Libya, left it to the terrorists and now Russia is making a play for it.
Brilliant foreign policy!]
What with Manchurian Candidate Barack Hussein Obama helping Iran, maybe that was the plan all along? Dunno, but...
coughEzekiel38cough
Iran - Persia
Russia - Magog
Libya - Put
Ezekiel 38:5
..closer every day
Just keeps lining up as its supposed to. Still, the world will be surprised.
Magog is in Turkey. the land of Put is associated with Somalia.
And this is war IN Libya, not libya attacking others
[Magog is in Turkey]
Yeah, I’ve heard that one, too.
