An internal audit of 29 warrant applications submitted by the FBI to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court found only minor clerical errors in a process that has come under heavy political scrutiny in recent years.
The findings were revealed in a court filing Wednesday and stem from an independent review of the FBI's application process for surveillance warrants by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz.
The DOJ watchdog concluded in a report earlier this year that the FBI had made over a dozen errors in its applications to look into Carter Page, a foreign policy adviser to President Trump's 2016 campaign.
According to last week's court documents, the internal review looked over "hundreds of pages of facts contained in the 29 applications audited by the Office of the Inspector General" and found "only one material misstatement and one material omission."
"The complete absence in the twenty-nine applications of material errors impacting probable cause should instill confidence in the FBI's use of its FISA authorities," FBI Acting General Counsel Dawn Browning said in a sworn statement, referring to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
"The overwhelming majority of factual assertions -- approximately 6,568 -- were determined not to be erroneous at all, materially or otherwise. Of the errors that were identified, many were minor typographical errors, such as a misspelled word, and date errors," Browning added.

So, does this mean that the audit was a whitewash, or that only Trump-related FISA requests were grossly abused?
“Minor errors” like “should not have been to behin with”, but that’s minor!.
So only two Felonies then. Who committed them?
L
...........well, now that the FBI and the DOJ have the working, tax paying American to a point where he/she doesn’t believe a damn thing they say who the hell among us believes this?
Please Please Please when I get audited by the IRS, have these guys do my audit. Let me see here, oh, your check to madame X’s house of horizontal refreshment for 1000 was just misapplied as a donation, it should have been a gift. Oh well, nothing here.
The errors were mostly minor.
There were little mistakes with the warrants...dot your eyes and cross your t's.
But the exception are the FISA warrants related to the President.
if you make errors like this to the IRS under PERJURY, do they just look the other way if you confess??
???
A minor error is enough to invalidate them.
CYAism .. A bigger threat than any foreign enemy we have.
CYAism .. A bigger threat than any foreign enemy we have.
The US Govt finds itself innocent again. Whodathunk?
All this means is that they looked into OTHER cases & found few errors. Which means that what was used on Carter Page & other Trump people was most definitely politically driven. And a whole lotta people still should be facing jail time.
Soooo...normally there are only a few clerical errors, but in the Carter Page warrants, there were 17 significant errors. Seems like something was amiss with that warrant...hmmmm.
That’s like saying there was nothing wrong with the gun used to kill all those people in Las Vegas.
If you commit crimes and the FBI arrests you, you can refer to those crimes as ‘Mistakes” and they’ll let you go.
..little known fact there...... ;)
