Democrats’ ‘War Game’ for Election Includes West Coast Secession, Possible Civil War

Democrats are contemplating secession and potential civil war as they game out possible scenarios for a closely contested election, according to a report by Ben Smith in a New York Times column Sunday.

The bulk of Smith’s column is devoted to the question of how the media will handle Election Night coverage, given that the result may not be known for weeks. Vote-by-mail, which many states have only recently adopted — ostensibly, to prevent the spread of coronavirus in polling places — could lead to an uncertain result.

[...]

In one scenario, John Podesta — the former chair of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, and a leading figure in party circles — played former Vice President Joe Biden, and refused to concede the election.

The result: the threat of secession by the entire West Coast, followed by the possible intervention of the U.S. armed forces:

Entire west coast?

Until 90% of those states, by land mass, secede from them.

A few blue cities on a strip of land on the coast.

And then game on.

“... the threat of secession by the entire West Coast.”

California would be annexed by Mexico within 10 years.

If the West coast left the Union we would see federal progressivism collapse ... it would save the country ... which is why they’ll never do it.

West Coast secession? Reduce them to territories and let them beg to be readmitted as states.

California, Oregon and Washington have already seceded. By refusing to follow Federal law they are no longer American

By becoming Sanctuaries they are no longer America. By insisting on fraudulent voting, they have no voice in the federal elections for President or the Senate.

Oh and yes, people who live there are no longer Americans. That’s a tough pill to swallow but it is so.

The democrats already tried this in the 1860’s, didn’t work than, will not work now.

The West Coast states withdraw from the US.

They no longer have access to federal funds or services.

A few of the true communists are gleeful.

Now, they can invite in the Chinese.

The Chinese come in.

That part of the ocean becomes known as The Bloody Pacific as the Chinese eliminate all westerners.

Anyone think that’s something worth having?

You will see massive hypocrisy in that case. Those states that do not recognize the sovereign right of the United States would turn around and not allow large areas of their own states to succeed from them. There’s no way they could allow all that land to go. They need the water and natural resources and agriculture.

Last time they tried secession, it cost half a million casualties, a more dominant Federal government, the end of slavery(the new welfare state is the new slavery for the Dums), and a brutal Reconstruction.

I wonder how much they are willing to pay this time?

You are wrong. The states of California, Oregon and Washington have already seceded . The military can go in and remove the existing governments and re establish the area as federal territories that are US property bun have lost the rights as states. i

This is a trial balloon, as usual. Throw some snot on the wall and see what kind of boogers form.

The dimwits are playing grab-ass. They know they’ll lose and would like to see how many chaotic styles of resistance they can conjure. They’ve been on this ride for 4 years already, so for them, it’s nothing new. Other than soros’ confab in Jan 2017, when his minions secretly strategized that their best be was to go after soft-target AG offices nationwide, thereby allowing for enhanced cheating, they’ve just been making it up as they go along. What a bunch of bedwetters!

Drive them into the sea, if they want to “seacede”. We should not give up our ports out naval bases. Ever.

Secession? I guess we’ll have to take all their statues down after that.

I’d agree generally, but we need to hold the Pacific and West Coast Navy Homeports and surrounding areas. In that scenario, the loyal United States would need access to the Pacific. We can’t just “let them go” without forcing major land and military concessions.
