Being fat is bad, who knew?...
Next they’ll tell me smoking and being hammered are bad too.
Oh boy. That means that the poor blacks are more at risk; they are far more likely to be overweight because they eat at places like McDonald’s or Burger King or Taco Bell or that cajun chicken place, Popeye’s, I think.
And on that note, everyone should see the movie “Idiocracy.” It’s pretty funny. Wealthy, privileged white people put off having children until they’re infertile, while the poor white trash rednecks breed like rabbits. So the population dumbs down over time.
Maya Rudolph and Dax Shepard (sp?) play two people who are somehow frozen in time and re-appear 500 years into the future, when everyone else is completely stupid.
“Dr. Craig Mallaks work in the morgue tracking Broward Countys COVID-19 deaths startled him so much he shed pounds that he didnt even need to lose.”
Wow, I wish I could receive such startling news today! ;)
Gee, it is almost as if China designed a virus just to attack America. Whodathunkit?
so a Bodybuilder is Walking Dead ?
“A person who is off the normal weight by about 40 pounds could be considered obese.
.”
Whew...I’m only over 30!
RUH-ROH!.................Good thing I just lost 35 pounds!................
I posted this on a previous thread about Mexican Beer Virus:
Heres an interesting article about age, weight and Wuflu:
We found patients younger than 50 years of age hospitalized with COVID-19 without diabetes or hypertension had mean BMI greater than those older than 50 years of age, with BMI 43.1 (95%CI 34.5 - 51.7) kg/m2 vs 30.1 (95%CI 27.7 - 32.5) kg/m2 (p=0.02).
A BMI of 43 is someone whos 55 and 260 lbs.
Oh well. Even though I’ve lost 10 pounds in the last month or so, I’m probably still screwed.
Neighbor has a son who works in Phila Pa Hospital as an RN. The only Twenty something that died of COVID was between 400 and 500 pounds.
Get cancer. It really knocks your weight down.
ICU nurse working the COVID wards during the height of NYC’s crisis told me almost every last person in all the four wards she worked (ventilator patients all) was morbidly obese.
I figured that out over 3 weeks ago & I went to a one room school-—in the late 40’s & early 50’s.
Does this make me more expert than all the ‘Experts”???
Should rename this thing the Single Payer Healthcare Virus.
Just think; if no vaccines end up being effective and this thing hangs around for a few years, we’ll have a planet of young and/or healthy people.
On Thanksgiving I tipped the scales at 159 pounds, the heaviest ever for me. I started riding bicycles and was riding a trainer and using Zwift all winter. I have lost 26 pounds. I really didn’t need to lose any of it but according to most BMI charts at 155 pounds I’m overweight. This is silly even at 159 I’m skinny. At 133 I’m actually thinking I need to put a few back on.
Hmm, wonder if blue (and some red) state lockdowns, including closing responsibly run gyms, parks, and beaches could make people watch soap operas all day and make people fatter....
