What a Second American Civil War Could Look Like
Townhall.com ^ | July 21, 2020 | Mark Nuckols

Posted on 07/21/2020 6:19:22 AM PDT by Kaslin

I fear that there is a looming civil war on the horizon. It is not yet inevitable, but all true American patriots must be prepared for the coming battle. And the costs in blood will be heavy. This war will not be fought like the American Revolution or the Civil War of 1861-65, where disciplined armies observed the laws of war and respected civilian lives.

This war will be waged by far-left radicals and their deep-state puppet masters. For them, civilian casualties and massacres will not be moral evils, but merely part and parcel of their larger plan to “reconstruct” America. Their objective is simple: overthrow our constitutional order, destroy our way of life, and deprive us of our freedom, our liberties, our property, and our honor.

I have spent many years in countries that have suffered civil war and its horrors, such as Russia (including Chechnya), Syria, Lebanon, Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo. I have also carefully studied the history of revolutions and civil conflict. And until recently I would never have believed a second civil war in America to be possible. But the warning signs are all there, and they began appearing most visibly when Donald Trump became the Republican nominee for president. He is the first American politician that strikes fear into the hearts of both the deep state and the radical left. And that fear makes them extremely dangerous.

The Bolshevik October Revolution of 1917 was carried out by a mere few thousand party members in St. Petersburg. And it was sudden and unexpected, the Bolshevik Central Committee made the decision to launch a coup d’etat only hours before its execution. In fact, as late as July 1917 Lenin himself did not expect a communist revolution in his lifetime. The Russian Civil War that followed is a horrifying story of savage carnage and obscene violence.

In similar fashion, I believe one likely spark for the Second American Civil War will be the result of a coup d’etat carried out by anti-America extremists. It will catch most Americans by surprise. The coup plotters will act quickly to seize the critical levers of power, before any opposition has a chance to react. And they will be aided and abetted by the kinds of people Lenin referred to, contemptuously, as useful idiots.

The shock troops will come from the ranks of Antifa and radical anti-white elements of the Black Lives Matter movement. These fascist stormtroopers will be augmented by the even larger numbers of veterans of Occupy and other far-left movements. And jihadists from across the globe will flock to support this coup. But the real power will be behind the scenes, in the hands of the bureaucrats of the American deep state, who will see such a far-left coup as their best chance to preserve and expand their far-reaching powers, but which President Trump threatens.

Much of the mainstream media will initially be warmly supportive. A few so-called conservatives at The New York Times may meekly protest that while the ends of the revolution are laudable, perhaps the means are a bit too messy. But most of the liberal media will fall into lockstep, in the belief that as long as they are supportive, the coup leaders will allow them to stay in business. Many Americans will believe their pro-coup propaganda and quietly submit, or at least refrain from overt resistance.

The faculties at Harvard, Yale, and Princeton will pass resolutions of fervent support, and their brainwashed students will rush to enlist in the revolution before all the excitement passes. Likewise, left-leaning foundations and oligarchs will promise financial support. And the Federal Reserve will flood the economy with debased currency.

Not all Democrat politicians will turn traitor, but there will be some prominent establishment “statesmen” who will betray our country. They will naively believe that they will be able to control the revolution and turn it to their own purposes. When their fig leaf of respectability is no longer required, they will get the fate they deserve. But their role will be critical, to give coup leaders the guise of “continuity of government” while they seize the critical levers of power.

America’s external enemies will not sit by idly. The new revolutionary government will offer generous terms in return for “foreign assistance” (meaning secret police), and troops if necessary. Expect a Treaty of San Antonio whereby Mexico “recovers her historic territories” of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and southern California. Russia will expect a return of Alaska (and its oil) to the Motherland. China and the European Union will demand we surrender our economic sovereignty and become vassals of Beijing and Brussels. And, of course, the United Nations will offer to send in the “blue helmets” to “restore civil order.” North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran will all also want in on the spoils in return for “technical support.”

And what will be the agenda of this regime? The first priority is obvious: the confiscation of all privately owned guns. An armed citizenry ready and prepared to defend its rights would be an intolerable threat to the regime. The next logical step would be identifying any and all possible sources of opposition and interning them and their families in “re-education” camps. The third priority will be a radical redistribution of property. It would destroy the American free-enterprise economy, but short-term it would guarantee the loyal support of all those hoping for a share of the spoils.

I do not wish to be alarmist. But what I describe here is a plausible scenario. And have no doubt, our nation’s enemies are resolute and determined. The continued existence of our great country, the United States of America, will depend on the bravery, strength, resourcefulness, and patriotism of her most loyal citizens. We must stand prepared for all possible threats.

May God bless and protect America.

That was what I thought. But my memory was fuzzy on that. If someone had said different, I would not argue.

Well, you’re not squeamish about using the word kill in peace time, even though you are speaking hypothetically about war time. I don’t like that kind of talk. Say about me what you will.

Also, if as you suggest, ‘they’ start a war, and we fight back, then these people that you are targeting will have plenty of time (and pre-planning) to duck out of public vulnerability.

I wanted to express in my post how stuff like this (as in Yugoslavia) get far uglier and much much more complex then people can even come close to imagining... and there are sooooo many everyday people who may be in effect sticking their head in the sand, just want to go to work and school every day and have a somewhat normal life and are not caught up in all this radicalism, and wont deserve what would transpire. So don’t let yourself get sucked into dystopic fantasies as if that is something that can actually be managed. It can’t.

So do they think all of the ex-military veterans who are probably armed and still love America will just fall on their knees and surrender?

No, but they know that we're the people who are naturally lawful. Their side has the criminals... we have the folks who follow the law. And they'll use that against us.

That's why we need to organize our plans and write up our rules of engagement. If we don't, our side will sit on their hands...waiting for a lawful solution.

But, What do you do for primers?

That's why you adopt the caliber of your enemies.

They use .223/5.56? That exotic deer rifle caliber is nice, but you also need to have a rifle chambered in .223/5.56 at the ready.

They use 9mm? That classic .45 ACP 1911 is cool since it won two world wars and all, but you need to have a 9mm as well.

Mercury fulminate is prepared by dissolving mercury in nitric acid and adding ethanol to the solution. Used as a priming composition in small copper caps that seat in to the base of a center-fire casing. Please note that there are more modern primers that tend to be more stable but this one is relatively easy to make, but in small quantities please!

A coup would be the start of Civil War. A Junta of left wing generals and the deep state/media will move on Trump to arrest the president and VP for “treason and crimes against the state” The big question will be if Trump escapes arrest or assassination. He must go least he become a symbol of opposition. Nancy becomes the 46 president, moves to the White House with Media support. Trump escapes to Texas, Texas supports him—becomes the Official USA. Other states join and its 1861 all over again.

There is NO good way for the average (or even talented) reloader to make PRIMERS or BRASS CASES.
(That’s WHY that the intelligent patriot HAS already acquired those “hard to find in a crisis” items.)

5,000-10,000 primers in the size(s) that you & your friends NEED are relatively cheap to buy & empty “once fired” cases are CHEAP too, if one “shops around” the “back tables” at most any gun show/ flea market and/or “looks about on-line”.
(In many areas of the USA, “range scrounging” will yield more cases that you can ever use & in a relative few range sessions.)
NOTE: My “EDC” pistol is in 9x19mm & in just one afternoon, last fall, I “picked up” over 1,000 “once fired” cases that were “left behind” by previous shooters & “free for the taking”.
(Short of acquiring a SMG in 9x19mm, I’ll NEVER wear-out that many pistol rounds, given that I get at least 6 reloads of each case.)
ADDENDA: I “currently scrounge” cases for .38SPL, 9x19mm, .45ACP/.45 Auto Rim, 5.56NATO, 7.62NATO, .30-06 & 12 gauge.

Just my OPINION, TMN78247

“The soldiers on the conservative side are the police.”

I repeat, “Only one side is fighting”. The police are not permitted to fight, only retreat. Watch some videos of the Columbus square riot in Chicago (see below). Cops standing around as they are pelted with rocks, cans, frozen bottles.

I like it, given the current situation it is plausible. I think they would go to assassinate both the Potus and VP.
Otherwise the country would coalesce around them. I hope the Pentagon is taking notes.
Legitimacy is key, secession has been tried and failed because the military in general would not follow an illegitimate leader. Texas would be the temporary seat of the Federal Republic while insurrection is going on in Washington DC. The Red States would express loyalty to the legitimate government. Blue states would express loyalty to Pelosi’s new model federal government. This would create two Blue clusters the East Coast and the West Coast.
Trump would issue an executive order that these states are in revolt and ask the red parts of those states to re-form new state governments: in Illinois case practically the whole state will re-form except for the Chicago area. Even the Western counties of New York would re-from leaving the Blue states nothing more than city states.

If people like antifa - and Weather Underground Bill Ayers types - take over they will NOT have a problem killing millions of us.

And yes, I agree war is NOT the first choice or the ninetieth way. It's only if it's forced upon us. The alternative - being shipped off to concentration camps or gulags is NOT acceptable. If antifa and communists take over and decide to kill us we need to be able to fight back effectively. That's what I'm talking about. IF we had to fight - how would we do it to LIMIT deaths...

Wars in the past were fought between the "common man" of one group against the 'common men' of another group. It's a system that works for 'elites' on both sides. But it's nuts in today's world. And it's nuts for 'the people' to fight such wars.

If a small violent group can "take over" than a small violent group of sheepdogs can defend. We would be defenders.

It would be a waste of time to try to take out individual antifa or commie members... they're the 'common man foot soldiers'...of this potential war.

If this horror comes about - we need to stop the people who would keep the war going. And stop the war in time to have as few deaths as possible. Solzhenitsyn had it right. The time to resist is before you're sitting in a gulag - forced labor camps. In the meantime we should use every lawful means possible to stop anarchy... and ONLY engage in war is war is thrust upon us. http://blogs.evergreen.edu/maymeg14/blog/2012/03/10/prairie-fire/

A lot of it depends on how the US military reacts when civil war II starts. I used to think a majority of it would stand down and let the feds, states and cities go through it. However with Mattis and the rest being insubordinate and hinting at a coup should be tried I suspect they will side with the deep state and the kind of mess in Yugoslavia will be the type of war. But the military grunts on the ground will be taking into account that the people they are shooting are their neighbors and those they don’t kill will be out for revenge against the military members families. This will be a bloody, nasty mess if the left goes there. I pray it doesn’t happen but I don’t think the left is going to agree and will as they did in 1861, force the war upon the country.

I'll check into that, thanks. I have posted on the subject of Balkanization of the US before here on FR. I believe it would be likely prior to any widespread physical conflict between factions. It has actually been percolating for decades in localities where elected sheriffs etc. stated they would not enforce controversial state and federal laws.

The nature of state or federal response to this sort of "disobedience" or some type of more coordinated regional Balkanization, not necessarily secession, would probably be the determining factor in the actual start of coordinated violence by citizen groups.

A lot of it depends on how the US military reacts when civil war II starts.

The current standing Army of < 1,000,000 is not large enough to hold one medium sized state let alone an entire country as big ad the USA and it's 330 million population. The Army will not even be worth a footnote in history.

The parents of the uncivil warriors are young enough that their education included no history and no civics while their children have been actively "educated" to not think and to accept blatant lies. That is the most dangerous condition in the country. Only a minority has any understanding of history and most do not know what has failed and failed again in the past. They will buy into anything that sounds good and lets them participate in something that seems momentous.

As for a coup-d'etat all of the bureaus and agencies have armed wings and have trained for SWAT activities and crowd control. A strike against the control centers is eminently plausible. It would be very widespread and the bureaucrats' army has probably more manpower than the US Army and is positioned throughout the system. Large troop movements would be unnecessary to position them for a strike on the government. The Obama generals- remember that Obama purged the upper ranks of the military as did Clinton before him. The senior generals are Obama men they would hold back until they knew it was safe to declare for the Revolutionaries.

PLEASE do NOT even attempt to recycle the lead out of lead/acid batteries. = We may NEED you to help us defend against the “enemies domestic” that we GIs took an oath to protect the US CONSTITUTION from.
(Attempting to “recycle” lead out of batteries IS “hazardous” to your life & health & NOT worth the risks. - Recycle the batteries to an “aftermarket buyer” & use that money to buy scrap lead.)

Even if the US military intervenes in force it is very limited on what they control. It will not be able to control vast swathes of the country, they just don’t have the man power. They will attempt to use air power to destroy opposition, yes air strikes on US citizens will be the norm especially in rural areas. The internet will be taken down and only approved media will be allowed.

The military still can’t be everywhere. They can move the 101st into a city and control it pretty well but when it moves that control goes away. Those in the military would have to consider the safety of their families. If they are killing their families next door neighbors human nature is going to take it’s course and there would be retaliations. God I hope it doesn’t happen, but again fear the left is hellbent on another civil war. If they force it on us again the Democrat party must be ground into the dust of a million pieces and thrown into the wind, it must die for the misery that party has brought to the country. I pray this cup passes from us...

Don’t worry I have no intention of melting old batteries down! I value my lungs. I was wondering about stone bullets.
Granite ground down to a ballistic shape and metal jacketed.
If we can get something with the right ballistics that is dirt cheap...
