A coup would be the start of Civil War. A Junta of left wing generals and the deep state/media will move on Trump to arrest the president and VP for “treason and crimes against the state” The big question will be if Trump escapes arrest or assassination. He must go least he become a symbol of opposition. Nancy becomes the 46 president, moves to the White House with Media support. Trump escapes to Texas, Texas supports him—becomes the Official USA. Other states join and its 1861 all over again.

I like it, given the current situation it is plausible. I think they would go to assassinate both the Potus and VP.
Otherwise the country would coalesce around them. I hope the Pentagon is taking notes.
Legitimacy is key, secession has been tried and failed because the military in general would not follow an illegitimate leader. Texas would be the temporary seat of the Federal Republic while insurrection is going on in Washington DC. The Red States would express loyalty to the legitimate government. Blue states would express loyalty to Pelosi’s new model federal government. This would create two Blue clusters the East Coast and the West Coast.
Trump would issue an executive order that these states are in revolt and ask the red parts of those states to re-form new state governments: in Illinois case practically the whole state will re-form except for the Chicago area. Even the Western counties of New York would re-from leaving the Blue states nothing more than city states.
