CLEVELAND Cleveland police are investigating after a man shot and killed a dog after it attacked his pregnant girlfriend while she was taking it on a walk Saturday evening.
Around 6:44 p.m., officers responded to the 9200 block of Rosalind Avenue after receiving a call that a woman had been attacked by a pit bull, police said.
Once on scene, officers found that a 31-year-old woman was being transported by EMS to University Hospitals in serious condition and saw the dog lying lifeless in the street, according to police.
The womans boyfriend told police that he had shot and killed the dog after we witnessed it attack his girlfriend, police said.

Buy from an AKC breeder with Westminster-championship lines.
Pricey but safe.
Could have been something as simple as a new perfume.
Didn’t want a pure breed.
Most of these are now "written" at all. They are automated transcripts generated by machines.
Seriously? Well, how is the information compiled?
A great many of these articles are from TV and Radio broadcasts.
A show does a tv news broadcast and the transcript is shown as a print article below.
When you look at them you often see clear clues the machine mistook a pronunciation of one word for another.
This was from a TV station. I suspect a human often gives a quick once-over before it is put out on the net.
I look at a lot of these, and the printed version is just an afterthought.
I have watched many of the videos, and the print is very, very close to word for word what was said in the broadcast.
These are local stations without a lot of resources.
Collies are wonderful family dogs.
When I was growing up every family of my extended family had at least one collie.
They were very attentive and protective, never under foot but always close by, watching over us like guardian angels.
They herded us off the street and kept all threats away.
My two were Lady and Renny... good memories!
She is another example of Darwin's theory...
Good point.
See post 46. It was in response to your question.
She has it on quick release, all you have to do is easily pull the bottom part off the leash to release. I have one myself and it is insanely easy to use.
We’re looking for a new big dog to replace the one we lost not long ago.
Looked at two shelters yesterday - one was entirely filled with pitbulls that were over eight years old, the other, same thing except with chihuahuas.
Most of my dogs have been extremely healthy until the last few months, that’s when they start costing money. I have a feeling people drop off these old dogs when they start to decline and experience health issues.
It was insane what I had to spend the last few months on my little dog recently, who was, in the end, euthanized. Before that, nothing but regular shots and check-ups.
We just recently acquired a rescue pup. He’s a lab/hound mix, about 4 months old. Litter of 7 abandoned in rural Oklahoma, rescued by a gal who runs a farm. They all got adopted here in Washington state (the gal that rescued them has a daughter that lives in Tacoma). He’s a black dog, rescued by a gal that runs Black Dog Farm, and is now living with my husband and I, who are in a band called Black Dog! It was meant to be.
So...what is your favorite Led Zeppelin song?
HAHAHA!! A lot of people assume we’re a Zeppelin cover band, but we don’t play one song of theirs! I honestly would be hard pressed to name my favorite, there’s so many.
