But retail employees enforce such rules all the time. No shirt, no shoes, no service. Shoplifters.
If a store has a sign demanding masks, I choose whether to wear a mask or shop elsewhere. They can’t enforce the “law” but they can make rules.
Also minimum age laws for nicotine products and alcohol.
wear it the top of your head like a hat
I am not sure how people can take on a retail employee who is simply trying to enforce their stores policy.
Dont those folks get enough crap from customers? Yes....yes, they do.
The French Revolution II? Innocent victims of stupid diktats.
[[What if the customer or visitor refuses to don a mask?]]
California security guard charged with murder after shooting customer who was not wearing mask
In the context of the article...
The same way bars police unruly drunks. Bouncers.
I was almost kicked out of Safeway about 1/2 hour ago. I had finished shopping, with out a mask, and stopped to ask customer service a question. “Sir, you must put a mask on.”
Couldn’t ask a question. If I hadn’t already paid for the groceries, I would have left them there.
Nice and simple. The business owner isnt there to enforce anyones stupid orders.
Contacted the local police and sheriffs office,,guess what? They dont want to be the mask police either,,they have more important things to do.
The Dems never dreamed it would be this easy to go full totalitarian on us. We are nothing but sheep! Sad we have some who frequent FR who are completely cool with this! F-ing fools!
That “shop elsewhere” works until your governor mandates masks to shop and sends out an army of Karen’s to punish businesses that don’t comply. There are a few stores I switched to because they were lenient on masks, but even they have tightened down for fear of reprisal. There is literally no store I know of near me that doesn’t require masks. But I am seeing a lot of people pulling them down once they get into the store.
That is where I find myself. If there is a store or a business that clearly states that masks are required, I respect that and wear a mask. If a sign says wear a mask or keep 6 feet away, I keep 6 feet or more away and don’t wear a mask. If the store gets crowded, I may or may not wear a mask, depending on what others I doing. I have seen up to 50% of people in a store not wearing masks. A week later, nearly everyone does. In county that has never exceeded 50 active cases and has a 0.16% positive test rate, I am not too concerned. That would change if I was in a highly infected area, but then again, I would never live in a city.
There is an ideal solution: STOP WHINING. If your area has instituted mask rules follow them, stop bitching and just do it. If your region hasn’t but a business has follow it or go elsewhere, stop bitching and just do one of those. Getting confrontational and crappy with the employees is stupid.
i wear a mask if the sign says i have to , but if i see 1 other person w/o it, i take mine off.
I’ve never been approached by an employee.
Many of these mandates offer exemptions for children under age 12 or for a medical reasons. I have not seen any requirement to provide proof of a medical exemption.
What is to stop a person from declaring he is medically exempt? And if I understand correctly, ADA and HIPPA rules do not allow the store employee to question what your medical condition is?
Any comments?
Everyone puts on a shirt and footwear.
Been like that for centuries.
Masks which will reduce your oxygen supply, increase your CO2 and act as a receptacle for germs are a different matter altogether. And thy don’t even work.
I refuse to wear em.
