Costco in Midlothian VA has two very rude self appointed female mask police. I have had it. Won’t return until these fascists are muzzled. This disdainful Costco experience is not for me, and my money.

Buh, bye!

stopped to ask customer service a question

There's your mistake right there. If you aren't going to wear a mask then keep your mouth shut.

healthy people shouldnt wear masks

That's true. But some people aren't healthy even if they think they are, or they go shopping feeling under the weather.

It’s not virtue signalling. It’s not being an ass. Having done time in retail I know much it can suck. I also know how little of what people mad at them for they have any say in. And finally I know just how many little tools they have available to them to exact revenge. It’s amazing how many discounts I’ve gotten just by being nice. And out of stock items suddenly found in the back. All kinds of good stuff happens just by remembering that they’re people and deserve to be treated with basic human dignity.

And the customers are definitely NOT fine. All these confrontations making their onto youtube are entitled jerks.

The same way bars police unruly drunks. Bouncers.

As a long time doorman at a private membership only liquor bar in Texas you have no immunity from prosecution if you physically touch aka assault someone if crap breaks out and your customer is injured or harmed in any way at all. I know from first hand experience.

As a bouncer you hope it doesn't come down to charges being filed for assault against you if you go too far but you can be filed on and arrested for assault if the situation goes sideways on you. It usually didn't though thankfully. Seen it happen a few times over the years with the inexperienced young and tough breed. Kind of depends what is considered to be what is reasonable enough force to use. Was never arrested but was advised by dispatched officers to be careful.

It’s funny to see the folks here suddenly cheering them on. So many years we’ve made so much fun of the folks freaking out over lack chicken nuggets or whatever. Now all of a sudden they love it. Failing to see it’s the exact same kind of entitled BS.

Someone pointed out there are 100 medical reasons that preclude wearing a mask. Yes, there's less fresh air, I can vouch for that. But it's not hard to compensate with a little longer breaths.

.....But I am seeing a lot of people pulling them down once they get into the store.

Or simply pull them down under their noses therefore rendering them totally ineffective. But hey, you have your mask on.

“If a store has a sign demanding masks, I choose whether to wear a mask or shop elsewhere. They can’t enforce the “law” but they can make rules.”

Last week, my wife, her hairdresser, our siblings and their spouses, other relatives and friends older and younger could see this mask issue costing someone’s life.

Basically, all of us decided to buy a supply of cheap masks and carry them in our vehicles, the women will carry 2 in their purses, one for them and one for the typical forgetful males in the family.

We ordered 50 from Amazon with some leftover giftcard money and got 50 for about 5$ total. My wife had a hair appt. Friday morning and she put her mask on as she got out of the car @ the salon and took it off when she got back into the car to drive home. It stayed on the dash in the sun until we used it this morning at our local fruit stand. Both masks went on the dash as we got in the vehicle and shut the doors.

We don’t wear a mask while driving or riding in vehicles. We don’t wear them walking on our culdesac, we don’t wear them while working in our garden, nor in our home.

We are not going to kill anyone nor be killed by someone for not wearing a mask in a store or business.

Nor will we be fined $500 for not wearing one.

There is an ideal solution: STOP WHINING. If your area has instituted mask rules follow them, stop bitching and just do it.

Himmler would have loved you.

It is virtue signaling and I am secure in my own virtue to not need a prop to let others of my virtue. Wear your mask and I will not wear it for you.

Police these days aren’t even allowed to defend themselves. They sure as hell aren’t going to do anything about a mask call.

It’s only virtue signalling if you really want everybody to notice how masked you are. The rest of the time it’s just following the freaking rules. Maybe more people should be related to outlaw bikers. I grew up in a world that had bars that had “no colors” signs on them. Was it virtue signaling for my “uncles” to stow their vests before entering the bar? Or was it them respecting the rules established by the business? I vote the later.

So like a small mindless child. Has never worked on me. Simply designed to tray and shut down a conversation. Better luck with some other guy.

Yes, highly effective. That’s why the military has thrown out all its gas masks and just hand out disposable masks and page protectors.
