This past weekend, a car hit two activists protesting on a Seattle freeway, killing one and injuring the other. While that made headlines, the real story is what’s happening to drivers, many of whom are deciding that it's preferable to commit manslaughter by running over protesters, rather than being sitting ducks in their cars, with leftists scrabbling at their windows like movie zombies hungry for brains.
When cars run through protesters, the leftist media reports the story as if white drivers are in Mad Max mode, gunning for innocent blacks protesting for their rights. That’s what happened in Minneapolis shortly after the protests began.
A trucker had volunteered to make the dangerous drive to deliver supplies to a black-owned store in the riot-torn city but accidentally found himself on a freeway that protesters had commandeered. He avoided hitting anyone, but the mob swarmed his truck, and he was probably saved because he was arrested.
When a mob attacked a FedEx truck, the driver continued to move to avoid the protesters, who were trying to bash their way into his cab. One of the men crawling over his rig got dragged under the wheels and died.
In Fredericksburg, Virginia, a mob trapped a mom driving with her child. Her 911 call is chilling, because the 911 operator tells her that she’s on her own, along with an almost fatuously reminder that she should not hurt any of the people putting her and her daughter’s lives at risk:

In Provo, Utah, a driver made a right turn and found himself in the middle of a protest. The rioters crowded around his vehicle and one of them stuck a gun into the car, shooting the driver. The driver escaped, saving his life, by hitting the gas

BLUE STATE highways.
This is what Democrat rule gets you.
Nothing wrong with the highways. What has turned parts of the USA into lawless savagery is the democrat administrations of most big cities.
Utah is a blue state?
With more and more people getting back to work here in Maryland the extra cars on the road make it hard to go 90 MPH on a 55.
But with COVID and BLM police are still ignoring the speeding and reckless driving.
Nothing wrong with the highways. What has turned parts of the USA into lawless savagery is the democrat administrations of most big cities.
And likewise with protesters. As long as I stay in Kentucky (and a few other states), if a reasonable person would have believed they may be the next reginald denny if in my situation, I have the legal right to floor it, no matter who is in front of my car.
I have two homes 175 miles apart and it’s not like that driving between or around either of them.
Remember bad neighborhoods? Now it’s bad cities.
Just. Get. Out.
And it’s not really the just the highways.
It’s blue city streets.
MIchigan is one, for sure.
D’rat-connected union roadwork companies have laid some pretty chitty roadway over the years.
“Invest in a ball joint company.” is an old Michigan saying.
Self Defense isn’t Manslaughter.
All in blue states need to start filing law suits against blue state governors and mayors for the income loses and psychological damage they have incurred due to the riots and demonstrations they have allowed. They are responsible for the death, destruction and lost income because they demanded that they control their states and cities and have done absolutely nothing to prevent it. Some have even condoned it. The buck stops with THEM.

It is the protesting porcupines, deer and moose that cause the most problems out here in the sticks....
And over half of them are pasty white American Trash who would kill you without a thought.
I have a friend who was driving a 1985 Ford F150 was on a highway doing 70mph when an individual decided to commit suicide by stepping out in front of him. The guy demolished his truck. My friend like you was 100% in the clear,but he took it pretty hard.
Right...but...the Utah Gov is Repub (RINO? I have no idea), and the Provo Mayor is Repub (again, RINO? I have no idea).
Yes. I’ve read many stories about people in cars, not being at fault, still being devastated by this sort of things. I’m a very binary (black and white) thinker and I think that helps. It also could be my general world view based on my Christian beliefs.
i.e. was I responsible for his death? No? Then I’ve moved on. People die every day. This life is a bit like a reality video game. You only temporarily occupy your “player”. And when it’s game over, the “you” in the player goes into the reality to be with the Lord.
If I CAUSED another person’s death, that would be very different.
