Nothing wrong with the highways. What has turned parts of the USA into lawless savagery is the democrat administrations of most big cities.

Yep. hundreds of miles of highway with a few miles of hell as you pass through a democrat run city. I hit a pedestrian 16 years ago hard enough to throw him in the ditch like a deer. It was 100% on him and, being the “sociopath” that I am, I had no strong emotional response. Since there is nothing I could have done, I just imagine that it happened to some car and driver somewhere else on the planet.

And likewise with protesters. As long as I stay in Kentucky (and a few other states), if a reasonable person would have believed they may be the next reginald denny if in my situation, I have the legal right to floor it, no matter who is in front of my car.

I have a friend who was driving a 1985 Ford F150 was on a highway doing 70mph when an individual decided to commit suicide by stepping out in front of him. The guy demolished his truck. My friend like you was 100% in the clear,but he took it pretty hard.
