A new analysis reveals China has used stolen U.S. technology to build three types of weapons that could be used to destroy America's power grid in a "surprise Pearl Harbor" assault that could kill millions, reports Paul Bedard in his Washington Secrets column.
It's a threat about which WND has been reporting for two decades.
Bedard documents it is a report from an independent EMP Task Force on National and Homeland Security that reveals China now has a "network of satellites, high-speed missiles and 'super-electromagnetic pulse' weapons that could melt down the U.S. electric network, fry critical communications and stifle aircraft carrier groups."
The report is from Peter Pry, the task force's executive director and a longtime expert on the threat of EMP.
Bedard reported, "What's more, despite China’s promises to attack only after being attacked, Pry revealed new data to show that the Communist nation is lying and eager to shoot first with 'high-altitude electromagnetic pulse' [HEMP] weapons launched from satellites, ships and land."
Pry explained the report that Secrets obtained said, "China’s military doctrine -- including numerous examples presented here of using HEMP attack to win on the battlefield, defeat U.S. aircraft carriers, and achieve against the U.S. homeland a surprise 'Pearl Harbor' writ large -- is replete with technical and operational planning consistent with a nuclear first-strike."
The report documents how China's People's Liberation Army textbook already preaches the need for such warfare: "With their massive destructiveness, long-range nuclear weapons have combined with highly sophisticated information technology and information warfare under nuclear deterrence....Information war and traditional war have one thing in common, namely that the country which possesses the critical weapons such as atomic bombs will have 'first strike' and 'second-strike retaliation' capabilities....As soon as its computer networks come under attack and are

I do not doubt this. It would be devastating.

EMP is a serious threat, but it does not change the equation of mutually assured destruction assuming the elected President is not a squish.
I think that they have people in place at these facilities, and all they are waiting for is the “call”.
There doesn’t need to be an EMP or anything like that, just blow them up or cripple the system for a few weeks/months.

I recently learned that one of our comm sats (Echo 19) has 3 areas in the US it does not cover, one in FL, one in far NW WA state and one in central WI>>IA. I happen to live in one of them.
Does a nuclear EMP originating from a sat also have black-out areas it will not reach?

Ordinarily most would consider a warning about a potential chicom EMP attack as crazy, but given their success in launching a bio attack using virus infected humans, they are probably a lot more emboldened.

If they did something stupid, I have no doubt that our subs would devastate them more than they could devastate us. They know that. Therefore, China isn’t going to do something stupid.
I think they would mess with our economy, our elections, and they would send us a bad virus or two. They are our enemy. But they won’t go for a knockout blow. Too risky for them.
