Atlanta police shot and killed a black man late Friday night following a struggle outside a Wendy’s restaurant on the city’s southside, in an incident that inflamed tensions over police use of force and racial injustice that have roiled Atlanta and cities across the nation since the Memorial Day death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis.
Video of the shooting of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks, who had allegedly fallen asleep in his car and blocked the restaurant’s drive-through, went viral across social media. Protesters marching for a third weekend in Atlanta for justice for Floyd and other black men and women killed by police quickly demanded a full investigation Saturday of the Brooks shooting, and the Georgia NAACP called for the termination of Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields.

It’s so interesting I’ve heard several news people tonight misreporting. We are mostly watching this local here outside of Atlanta. Turned to Fox and Leland is a little over excited. Even now they’re almost inciting. Yeah. It’s stomach turning. They love this if you ask me.

This situation is completely different from Minneapolis.
The guy in Atlanta was violent He was emboldened by all the bs the last couple of weeks.

Everyone near him was going AROUND him to get their food. There wasn't any real danger until the cops arrived, and as is so often the case these days, needlessly escalate the situation into deadly violence.

They would not have arrived if someone hadn’t called saying there was a problem. Like a black out drunk / druggies car blocking Wendy’s from being able to provide for there customers. Did he deserve to die most likely not. But had no one done anything like make the original call and this clown comes too drives off and kills a family in his car would you feel better about the situation.
