Atlanta police shot and killed a black man late Friday night following a struggle outside a Wendys restaurant on the citys southside, in an incident that inflamed tensions over police use of force and racial injustice that have roiled Atlanta and cities across the nation since the Memorial Day death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis.
Video of the shooting of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks, who had allegedly fallen asleep in his car and blocked the restaurants drive-through, went viral across social media. Protesters marching for a third weekend in Atlanta for justice for Floyd and other black men and women killed by police quickly demanded a full investigation Saturday of the Brooks shooting, and the Georgia NAACP called for the termination of Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields.

I love Switzerland, but you can’t just move there easily and become a citizen, as far as I know. Unless you have some kind of ancestry there, or you’re a multi-millionaire...
I am right.
Move to chaz....problem solved.
As another FReeper said — we should have picked our own cotton.
Nope, I am right. Most of everybody is sick of the killing.
How do you figure an unarmed person running away should be shot to death? Just because of the bruised ego of probably a female cop who had their Taser taken away from them by a drunk?
You're as incompetent to maintain law and order as the idiot liberal mayors and governors.
There are like 12 of these deaths a year, which means you can expect one to happen every 30 days or so. This will not be the last one, so everyone needs to level set expectations that this will not be the last one.
Look, people are effing sick and tired of the cops killing people. STOP SHOOTING PEOPLE!
EXACTLY. This is the damned problem! How does a drunk dude asleep in his car get shot dead in the back by police? It should NEVER happen. There was no problem before they arrived.
I despise BLM, but I support the goals of pushing back against the law enforcement police state. Get the hell out of our lives.

Thank you. Finally a rational voice joining my rational voice.
I agree. Having the skills to be a truly good lawman is quite rare. I always think of the example of Wyatt Earp the way he was depicted in Tombstone. Relaxed, calculating and always looking to deescalate the situation.
Cops were so much better 40 years ago when they only had six shots in a S&W revolver.
So was this shooting justified? I have not heard enough to even guess. I'm hearing suspect fought officers, grabbed taser and attempted to engage officer with the taser. That's a justified shoot situation in my mind as the suspect could easily tase an officer then take his firearm and use it. On the other hand I'm hearing he pointed the taser at the officer while running away. Running away is an automatic no shoot situation. I need to hear more details. It's crap timing that's for sure.
“Uhhh, they could go work in a small town in a red state, or be security consultants, or work security in corporations, etc,”
Uhhhh, you make it seem so easy. It isn’t.

Who says there’s no good news anymore.
But then Police Departments had to be aligned "With the Mainstream of 20th Century Thinking." As Patton said, "God I hate the Twentieth Century!"
No. The problem is solved if the cops would simply calm the hell down. Act with cooler heads. Keep their tempers under control. Learn how to deescalate situations. Stop having such hair triggers.
You are not right about any of this.
If you want the rule of law destroyed, then you are right.
Judge Jeanne
Bull$hit. For someone passed out he certainly rose to the occasion in record time. He was completely alert, highly combative, purposely evasive and had full coordination. He was a danger to anyone near him.
Thank you, I just heard that on Fox.
