Paul thank God and be prepared for this if you didn’t know, the bridge to Brooklyn and back is $18 and the other bridges are 13 or 14 I forget, to New Jersey. Staten islanders only pay $6. It’s a very expensive protest to come here :-)

A lot do. I hate being part of New York City. It doesn’t make any sense. We are nothing like them. The other four boroughs call us rednecks.
I I wish we were a city on our own. We have 500,000 people that’s enough. We try and to secede but we don’t have the votes because the Bronx needs our money.

Kristin... I should admit that I wasn't trying to be quite as obnoxious as turned out. What happens is that of late our little local internet provider starts to chug and fade every day about five p.m.
So when I and presumeably half the town try to post something somewhere on the net, it rather appears that it might have been posted, but you can't tell for sure.
So you (or at least I), keep jabbing away at it, and sometimes it goes, and other times it doesn't. Yesterday it didn't, and then it did.
Sorry for all the unnecessary posts!

Think of others, drive safely!
To: JonPreston
I never said I drove crazy bro. And that’s why I got mad. I live in New York City. There are speed limits that are 25 miles per hour getting off of a highway. You feel like you are standing still. There are 45 miles per hour highways. All you need to be doing is 55 on a highway to get a ticket...
Not wearing a seatbelt.
And other nonsense.
I don’t know what you imagine but I wouldn’t have a license if I drove like you think I do
Anyway have a good day.

The NYPD Commisioner supports taking $$$ from the NYPD to send to “youth” programs. Why would he resign?

NYC has more than 36,000 police officers, so this is barely even a drop in the bucket.
Not really. To suddenly lose 300-800 employees you weren't expecting to? That's still decent number. And likely all at relatively high positions, if they're all able to retire immediately. So more like 3-800 out of a couple thousand, not out of the entire force.
But even out of the entire force, that's gonna hurt. Add in resignations that might start coming in (those are just unexpected retirement numbers), as well as normal retirements, and there goes a lot of cops. Other articles here mentioned that NYC needs about 12-1400 recruits entering cop school every year to hit their attrition numbers. This past year was a class size of 400. So just these retirements alone is going to take a full year or two of recruits to replace.
And that doesn't even get into the others that you mentioned: those trying to find other ways out right now, who aren't quite at retirement age.
