NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Unemployment remains a major issue across the country.
Many New York and New Jersey residents are losing hope, and are out of cash.
Adam D’Aleo has listened to the New York Department of Labor’s “we are experiencing high call volume” recording more times than he can count.
“It’s embarrassing, I remember it,” D’Aleo said.
When he was laid off at the beginning of April, he filed for unemployment benefits online. Every time he logs in, he gets this notice: “To complete the claim, call the claims center.”

Before you find out that all the lines are busy, NYS makes you go through 2 minutes of BS including keying in your SS#. Then they say you are being transferred to an agent. THEN they tell you the lines are busy and they disconnect you.
To the essential people, non-essential people are... non-essential.
If they off themselves, more for the essential people!

When they are hungry and homeless, they should feel gratitude to their Leader, The Cuomo, for keeping them away from that dreaded bug.

Read an article that trump wanted to distribute the unemployment to the people directly and the states stopped it in its tracks. As we are seeing and hearing this is turning out to be a way to continue this lock down and destroy trump and the economy

That is because it all gets fed into an IBM 390 Mainframe down in Trenton or Albany or wherever your state capital is.
The web interface is really a translation from html forms to scripts being sent to a terminal.
Replacing that 390 would insanely expensive and the system probably wouldn’t even be as reliable.
The IBM will run forever, however the Dell PowerEdges the operate the web interface well that is a different story.
New York and New Jersey are clear failed states...
