Three armed robbers got the shock of their lives when they broke into a Florida apartment and were shot at by the person inside, police said.
Chilling surveillance video shows the trio walking up to a second-story Neptune Beach residence on Tuesday evening, as one of them uses his body to push in the door.
Seconds later, about five gunshots ring out and the three men scurrying out, with one even leaping over the balcony to the ground.
Police said one of the home invaders was shot in the chest and was being treated at a hospital, local outlet WJXT reported.

The answer to the very first question is YES. And the democrats are responsible for entire segments of the population being brought up to be criminals. This is learned behavior.
Big deal, he missed, they ran, they were probably doing it again 15 minutes later
Crooks like to go through doors, but I have 4mm 3m film in all windows. Its easy to install and makes a window much less vulnerable. For vulnerable windows, mine are 1/2 inch lucite sandwiched between glass (because lucite scratches). Lucite is 250 times stronger than glass.
Grew up splitting time between Crown Heights and Gush Katif. Not a stranger to animals breaking in.
Most apartments will not let you alter their front door.
and the AA locks cant be bumped (and the keys cant be duplicated).
Ever heard of The a Lockpicking Lawyer?
L
I have two Abloy locks left over from my trucking days. Pretty expensive at the time but worth every penny.
Assa Abloy now does windows as well.
Actually, he managed to hit one in the chest. That guy went to the hospital and survived.
That was a heck of a jump. That guy was using nothing but animal survival instinct.
Now these guys are really in trouble. Sounds like they modified the hell out of this door. Probably did more damage to it leaving too.
That should read “animal instinct.”
Those Jehovahs Witnesses just wont take No! for an answer.
That guy needs to put in a little more range time. If you’re gonna’ open fire, you should have got all three.
Its that “Florida Man” again...
That’s a good start.
As a combat engineer, I can tell you that a true believer won’t be using the door. Breaching a wall would be my first choice.
If you live in a single family frame home, a common chain saw will slice an ingress breach in about a minute ( gotta trip the pole breaker first....).
But for common perps, reinforcement of window/doors is good .
Most apartments are wood frame as well. It’s the prefab or monolithic concrete that makes for the need of more energetic means ....
Anyway,
Yeah I am not talking about deterring a swat team here.
Im talking about the 99.999% of criminals. And even you average suicidal asshole we dealt with in Gush Katif. That was almost always a guy looking for an open window without internal bars.
Some idiots broke into a neighbor’s house by using crowbars to break open the security door, admittedly a cheap one.
Five feet away was a window that was half-open.
One thing I dont understand in the USA is why doors at homes open inward. Thats also sometimes the case in Israel, but its arguably more common to have the door open out.
Then you put a security door (heavy screen) on the inside.
Same with bars. At least in the Gush, we out then inside the window, so you couldnt just hook them up to a chain and car and pull them off. Also much less ugly.
