Some idiots broke into a neighbor’s house by using crowbars to break open the security door, admittedly a cheap one.
Five feet away was a window that was half-open.
One thing I don’t understand in the USA is why doors at homes open inward. That’s also sometimes the case in Israel, but it’s arguably more common to have the door open out.
Then you put a security door (heavy screen) on the inside.
Same with bars. At least in the Gush, we out then inside the window, so you couldn’t just hook them up to a chain and car and pull them off. Also much less ugly.
