WASHINGTON, April 9 (Reuters) - White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Thursday said the U.S. economy should be able to reopen "on a rolling basis" over the next month or two.
"The next month or two, we should be able to restart at least on a rolling basis," Kudlow said in an interview on Fox Business News. "Our intent here was, is to try to relieve people of the enormous difficult hardships they are suffering through no fault of their own."

SHOULD?????? SHOULD???? You BETTER start OPENING!!
Larry, just a suggestion:
Put out a hockey stick graph claiming that 6.7 million people are going to die of the economy is not reopened by May 1.
Faster.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Thursday endorsed an optimistic prediction that the U.S. economy might reopen in May, even as more Americans die from Covid-19 and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell warned against trying to return to normal too quickly.
During an appearance on CNBC, host Jim Cramer asked Mnuchin if he believed there was a possibility “if the doctors let us, that we could be open for business in the month of May.”
“I do, Jim,” Mnuchin said.
The comments from the Trump administration’s top economic official come as other White House advisers press for commerce to resume quickly an aim that appears to contradict more cautious messages coming from medical experts. Businesses across the country have closed their doors over the past month as the U.S. tried to slow the spread of the pandemic.
Mnuchin appeared on CNBC to tout a dramatic business lending program the Federal Reserve announced today to help boost the economy.

I agree. JUST DO IT!!!!
Absolutely! Why can’t these guys see this? At least we are getting more and more reports of reopening suggestions. Still too delayed for my liking, but maybe they are trying to socialize the concept.
My modeling says 40 million Americans are going to die if the economy is not opened today.
We all need to start crashing the White House switchboard with withering numbers of calls delivering these two messages:
- End National House Arrest NOW!
- Kick Tony Fauci to the curb
If they get buried under a literal avalanche of these it will give Trump political cover to actually do it.
Get ready for the endless complaints that the administration is showing preference for red states. Even if blue areas jump the gun without clearance, any resulting disaster would be blamed on Trump.
Coming later this year: Nobel Prize to Fauci for Medicine and Peace.
I’ll never have one of these SOBs help me remove a bandaid. They would pull it off slowly, one painful hair at a time.
” if the doctors let us, that we could be open for business in the month of May.”
Level the playing field. Cut of their pay 100%. Then we can see their true level of dedication to their positions.
I looked up “rolling basis” because I don’t know what the fornicate it means. Ok, it’s one fraction of the entire group at a time. I take it to mean: “Periodically opening up one part of the whole at a set interval, until the whole group is open. “
I hate it when someone uses an expression that I don’t understand.
So what will be first? massage parlors and hair salons? Car repair shops? Sandwich shops? At that rate we’ll all be poor and dead (not necessarily in that order) by the end of 2020.
No probably by state. The governers will be holding the reins on this.
Either they start opening or we will. We can see the infections and deaths, and we can judge when its stupid to keep things shut. Also knowing HCQ is out there we know if we do get a virulent case we wont be dying.
Im not wearing a stupid mask.
I think the global shutdown and widespread isolation is overdone,
county by county rules, based on #cases/100,000 would be better
low incidence (low mobility/rural) should be handled very differently
than high incidence (high mobility/city)
just as WVa has low case load burden,
and New York has high case load burden.
The one size fits all approach unnecessarily impacts low risk populations,
and are insufficient for severely effected areas
I’d like my acupuncture back.
Helps me with my migraines more than anything.
May seems to be the “red” line. Just watch how that red line is twisted when the time comes. I have a feeling my trifecta of a-holes: NY-Cuomo,NJ-Murphy,PA-Wolfe will do their best to move the line, rationalize their tyranny while begging for billions.
Go after Fauci and Cuomo....Denying people meds is a crime.
