Business Pushes Trump to Import Indian H-1B Graduates in Swap for U.S. Exports
Breitbart ^ | 21 Feb 2020 | NEIL MUNRO

President Donald Trump should use his February 24-25 visit to India to help companies export more Indian college-graduate workers into U.S. white-collar jobs, says an Indian trade group run by Indian and U.S.-Indian companies.

The trade association, dubbed NASSCOM, “is lobbying the two sides to treat the movement of skilled Indian workers under the H-1B scheme as a trade issue, asking that it be separated from the president’s broader concerns about immigration to the US,” according to a report in Financial Times:

“We’re at a loss trying to figure out why we’re seeing the kind of discrimination when this is actually benefiting the US,” Ms Ghosh said, arguing that Indian workers help to fill a vital skills gap in the country.

“We just have one request to [our Indian] government, which is — talk to him, make him understand the importance of high-skilled talent mobility,” Ms Ghosh said. “We have to ensure that he understands that this cannot be treated the same way as immigration — they’re two different things. That’s our biggest ask.”

[…] “The president needs to hear from his base … early and often,” said Daniel Horowitz, editor of Conservative Review:

Now is precisely the time to stand up and not stand down out of fear of pressuring the president. He wants to be pressured [by the base because] it is very hard for the president to go in one direction when 100 percent of the pressure inside the administration is headed in the other direction. The mistake that Trump supporters make is that they wait until it is too late and the president feels compelled to go with the swamp. The time to get to the president is early and often.

Blame our horrible immigration laws. When an immigrant acquires a green card (permanent residence visa) he/she can sponsor all her elderly relatives who can qualify for supplemental social security checks after a short period. This is asinine, to pay $800/month to someone who never worked in United States or contributed a dime in ANY TAXES.

My relatively upscale neighborhood here in suburban Dallas it pretty much all folks from India. How did this happen? I’m sure it’s not only here where this is happening.

Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland. The whole damn thing is Indians and Chinese. Where did they come from? Why are they here?

How did this foreign trash even get the FICO scores to do this?

Within weeks of arriving here, foreign H1B trash were getting car loans, credit cards, house loans all backed by Microsoft and Microsoft’s Tech Credit Union in Redmond.

Americans don’t get the same benefits. I asked. We needed to qualify on our own.

How can you tell the Americans working for Microsoft? Easy. Look for the shittiest cars in the Microsoft parking garage.

They seem that they can bring their whole filthy clan here, while Americans have to go through a long and expensive process to sponsor anyone.

And then get $800-$1200 a month SSI for their parents who never worked a day in their live in this country.

Why are notices in certain SSI offices prominently displayed in sone Indian worm language or Chinese? Even more prominent than Spanish for r English?

How about passing a law which would require American employers to hire American at twice the wage level of H1-B visa worker?

Opposite, actually - employers must pay a visa worker twice as much as an American. This will solve the problem because employers will then hire only the handful of visa workers who are genuinely superior to any American.

I can drink to that! The result will be the same.
Americans will get about double the wages the H1-B visa are willing to work for.

Now please answer 2nd part of my question...
Can such laws pass current congress?
Dreaming is fine, but we have to live in real world.

Clearly wrong.

Can such laws pass current congress? Dreaming is fine, but we have to live in real world.

Probably not. In the real world, we get what gains we can and avoid making the problem worse; it makes things worse to praise unbridled capitalism that erodes the American middle class through salary depression, thus sawing off the branch on which it sits.

It isn’t just that they’re hired because they’re cheap. These companies are deep into social justice, affirmative action, diversity, whatever you want to call it. They brag about their success in diversifying their employees.

Universities do it, too. My brother has been trying to get a job and every time he applies, he runs into the same thing. Chinese get the job and they’re Red Chinese, too. Educated at Peoples Republic of China universities. They’re probably here to spy, conduct industrial espionage, steal intellectual property, etc. And they’re less qualified, too—poor English skills, not knowledgeable about America society, history. They’re hired just to fill an affirmative action quota. In the meantime, Americans like my brother are out of work. And he’s an eighth generation American, too. We have ancestors who fought in the Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, WWII, and have paid taxes for 200 years. It’s disgraceful.

Agree. If there really is a “huge shortage” than companies should be more than willing to pay a premium.

Same. I’m one of the few non Indians in my neighborhood (Allen but bordering Frisco). My primary doctors are Indians. Heck, even my priest is an Indian. I have no issues with them at all, but I do have an issue with how our companies and government favor them over native born Americans.

Stockholders aren’t just Americans anymore, they don’t care about borders, they care about profits.

I just finished a year long project for a major bank. Of the people in the group I worked with there was:

1 Turk
1 Nigerian
2 Chinese
6 Indians
2 Americans.

I was one of those 2. It was Finance, not IT. That’s completely ridiculous.

Yep, I live in a brand new high rise facing the World Trade Center. My neighbors are mostly Indians or Chinese.

You’ve hit it. From K-PHD, most educators teach how to feel and what to think. They do not encourage learning how to think.

Now, how do we fix our education system?

And I drove by the elementary school my kids went to about 15 years ago. I’d be willing to bet that at least 50% of the kids there now are Desi.

The problem is that now the 2nd/3rd generations are becoming SUPER liberal. The man behind AOC, for example...

It has to start when kids are in middle school. That is when their brains are most receptive to brain washing.

I distinctly recall, when I was living in Chico in the early 60’s, teachers were paid not so good, the teacher’s union was getting strong because it was delivering higher wages to teachers. And the teacher’s unions grew from there, democrats embraced it, conservatives (rightly so) opposed it.

So now, 55 years later, the teachers are all pro-union, because money is the cocaine for most people, the union is pro-democrat, democrats are liberal, and liberalism is a mental dis-order.

So there you have it. I hate to denigrate teachers, but their jobs are easy compared to what I had to go through to be a good engineer. It was constant learning of new technology. Teachers teach the same dog gone thing year after year. I had professors in college who would draw a complicated diagram on blackboard, then face the students and explain the details without ever having to look at the diagram. They knew where A, B, C and P, Q, R were in the diagram!

Getting back to your question, how do we get students to learn to think? ONLY POSSIBLE if you can get rid of teachers, group think and foster individual merit system.

On edit...replace (get rid of teachers) with (get rid of unions, especially teachers)
