Business Pushes Trump to Import Indian H-1B Graduates in Swap for U.S. Exports
Breitbart ^ | 21 Feb 2020 | NEIL MUNRO

Posted on 02/22/2020 12:53:17 PM PST by NobleFree

President Donald Trump should use his February 24-25 visit to India to help companies export more Indian college-graduate workers into U.S. white-collar jobs, says an Indian trade group run by Indian and U.S.-Indian companies.

The trade association, dubbed NASSCOM, “is lobbying the two sides to treat the movement of skilled Indian workers under the H-1B scheme as a trade issue, asking that it be separated from the president’s broader concerns about immigration to the US,” according to a report in Financial Times:

“We’re at a loss trying to figure out why we’re seeing the kind of discrimination when this is actually benefiting the US,” Ms Ghosh said, arguing that Indian workers help to fill a vital skills gap in the country.

“We just have one request to [our Indian] government, which is — talk to him, make him understand the importance of high-skilled talent mobility,” Ms Ghosh said. “We have to ensure that he understands that this cannot be treated the same way as immigration — they’re two different things. That’s our biggest ask.”

[…] “The president needs to hear from his base … early and often,” said Daniel Horowitz, editor of Conservative Review:

Now is precisely the time to stand up and not stand down out of fear of pressuring the president. He wants to be pressured [by the base because] it is very hard for the president to go in one direction when 100 percent of the pressure inside the administration is headed in the other direction. The mistake that Trump supporters make is that they wait until it is too late and the president feels compelled to go with the swamp. The time to get to the president is early and often.

Disgusting. Make these companies PROVE that there are no American applicants before allowing a single one to come here.

Dont even bother. There ARE lots of Americans who can fill every single job held by an H1B — just not at H1B prices.

Business isn’t pushing it.

TRADE GROUPS are.

What does an India based business care if workers are exported to the US??

People that make money sending them over care.

Trade groups that represent Indian tech folks care.

And they don’t give a DAM about the US.

Nor should they, I guess.

But WE should. And so should our President of course.

And he does

“arguing that Indian workers help to fill a vital skills gap in the country”

Hilarious. The reason people don’t do programming anymore is because they were laid off and replaced in their last job by Indian programmers.

And then they bring the entire family here, which is why driving through much of the Santa Clara valley you can see elderly Indians wandering around with their hands clasped behind their backs in their brightly colored native dress.

And why white American kids are now a tiny minority in schools that were built by their grandparents taxes. And which were majority white as recently as the 1980’s.

Or as a friend in Sunnyvale put it to me, “we left when they put the fifth language on the garbage cans”.

Letting our country be taken over by a foreign nation’s citizens in exchange for them buying some crap is insane, and utterly against the wishes of the citizenry.

Actually, we should do exactly the opposite of this. We should impose a fee on companies sponsoring anybody for an H1b visa that ensures that worker costs them MORE than it would cost to employ an American for the same job.

Example:
Let’s say there is a job paying on average $100,000 per year. The company can pay an Indian $50,000 to do that same job and thus screw an American out of it. Well then the fee for that particular visa needs to be set at a minimum of $60,000 per year.

If companies don’t like that then I’d suggest they re-institute job training programs so they can bring American college grads along from entry level positions through to that mid manager level role.

Companies should not be able to crush the bargaining power of Americans in their own country by importing hordes of cheap labor. That’s awful for America and its not the free market. That’s rigging the game. The country should act in the best interests of its citizens - not of a few special interest groups against the interests of the majority.

Hire Americans first, dammmmmmit! There are many Americans who would like to work but so many Americans jobs are filled up with foreigners. Mostly from communist China and India too. Give the jobs to Americans and then come back and we can talk if you ever run out of American workers.

Mr. Munro doesn't seem to know the difference between "import" and "export". Then again, many Americans don't know the difference between "take" and "bring" either. And then there's "upload" and "download".

For 50 years I've seen these foreigners come in and take fellowships away from potential graduate schol students, then take away the technical jobs the American graduates would have filled, then sacrifice the college professorships to these. Your America is being flooded with people whose principles and ethics are so different that the America of my youth is going . . . going . . . gone!

All the hopes I had in sacrificing years to useful learned high-level research and engineering were wasted, years of a decent living income as a return of that investment . . . lost.

Keep these foreigners out. Let them make their own countries self-sufficient, not rob and take over ours.

Our young people are having a hard time getting jobs in line with their education:

The Internet is very slow here in Florida and I can’t give you examples now.

The tech executives must be asked to testify to Congress.

They can then spend time chatting with Roger Stone.
