Trump is clearly going to win on Tuesday so would it be smart for me to vote in the Democrat Primary? How about I vote for Bernie? Feel the Bern? Who would be Trump's most beatable opponent?
Vanity bump.
I would.
Force the Dems to accept the Bern or have fun watching them blow themselves to bits stopping it.
Not that some Freepers are even astute enough to put two and two together ...
Cast your vote based on the 15% rule. The democrats changed their primary systems to proportional voting after the last election. So every candidate gets delegates based on their percentage. They put in a floor of 15%. To get delegates they must have at least 15% of the vote. My theory is that we want a contested convention with as many candidates as possible with delegates. If we vote for the candidate polling nearest to 15% in our state before the primary we can keep as many of them alive as long as possible. I say nearest to 15% because all polls have a margin of error. So a candidate polling 16.5% might only get 14.9% of the vote and fail to get delegates. By keeping as many of these losers alive as possible, hopefully all the way to the convention, we create disunity and distrust. Imagine if we could keep six candidates viable, Crazy Bernie, Mayor Pete, Liawatha, Bite Me, Klobuchar and mini-mike. The convention goes to a second or third vote. Deals get made, hopefully, several of them get screwed over. Disunity and an even bigger victory in November.
My district in Texas has no primary races of interest to me therefore I can indulge in this. By all means though if you have a chance to vote against the GOPe in the primary that is where you need to cast your ballot.
....truly a Machiavellian approach...!love it.....
(BTW... formerly a resident of Central Virginia; now
a resident of Central Texas....! MOLON LABE...!)
I’m considering this myself as I think Bernie is the least electable candidate of the bunch (excluding Bloomberg). But then again maybe better to have a brokered and keep attack dog fauxcahontas taking shots... Tough call
Of all the misfits on the Democratic side, Biden is the one I'd really want Trump to face.
Ok then, so who?
In some states you have to declare your party before voting, but I don’t know if that’s a hassle or not. I would vote for Bernie simply because he would get shellacked so badly even the liberals couldn’t quibble about the outcome. I think it would eclipse George McGovern’s loss.
I’m considering the same thing here in Minnesota.
The only problem is that when you vote in the presidential primary, you have to ask for a Republican or Democrat ballot. That means they’ve essentially ID’d you.
The last thing I want is to get on any kind of mailing or phone list of the Democrat party.
In VA you pick the primary ballot you want. They hand it to you. No questions asked.
Check the polls Monday, and vote Tuesday for whoever is closest to 15%. (A bit over? make sure s/he stays above. Below? needs all the help possible.)
Of course a vote for Bernie might just force those who have not bought into the socialist pipe dream, to either sit out or vote for President Trump in the General Election.
I have a hard time seeing the Democrat path to the White House, though I will not be complacent. I will vote for President Trump next November, if for no other reason than it makes me feel good. 8>)
Doing anything else is just tempting fate imo. This is not a time for us to be cute. We need to stay serious and focused.
Vote for Tulsi. Pick a low probability candidate to keep them in the game as long as possible.
Plus she sometimes says interesting things.
How about Joe Biteme? If the looney tune is ahead, vote for the compromised and equally beatable dimbulb to prolong the savagery.
“Just remember that the original “Operation Chaos” got a jug-eared exchange student from Kenya elected to the White House.”
George W. McCain did that all on their own.
Why is this so hard....
I am on the local Democratic Congress-critters email list.
He thinks I am a supporter.
We need to give back to the Democratic Party what they give us—lies, lies, and more lies.
