Bosnian Pyramids: New finds
Ancient Origins ^ | Jan 2020 | Richard Hoyle

In 2020, as we begin a new decade, Dr Sam Osmanagich and The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation is celebrating its 15 th year since multidisciplinary investigations of the Bosnian Pyramids began. This year’s upcoming summer excavation season promises to be the most active yet, with active archaeological excavations taking place across the pyramid valley, both above and below ground on the Bosnian Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, Vratnica Tumulus, Ravne Tunnels, Ravne3 Tunnels and the newly discovered Ravne4 Tunnels.

In 2005, Bosnian born anthropologist Dr Sam Osmanagich announced to the world’s media his discovery, that a group of hills in the vicinity of Visoko, a small town in central Bosnia, were not hills at all but were in fact buried and forgotten Pyramids of both monumental size and extreme age. The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, the largest of the Bosnian Pyramids, is estimated to be at least 300m (900ft) tall. The Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon, though smaller at 190m (600ft) tall, is still over 50m (150ft) taller than the Great Pyramid of Giza .

"But no other pyramids are covered in grass, are they?"

Some in S America are/were covered in trees growing on them.

I don’t think the flood event was the same as the Younger Dryas Event. I think the flood came later. There are some ideas about Black Sea flooding that I found interesting.

Here is a site which covers more than 300 miles square, and may have taken thousands of years to build, but because it is in Africa, we don’t know about it. So far as I know, National Geographic has never sponsored any major research on it. I have spent hours on Google Earth going all over this huge area, and from erosion and sand coverage my guess is that it covers thousands of years of development at various times. I wonder if the civilization at Greater Zimbabwe was created by the people who used to live at those channels. There are several other links with other photos, but looking down on them yourself is the most revealing.

They are natural formations, but they are pretty neat, and it comes up once in a while.

:^) The Younger Dryas was about one or more large impacts, rather than (merely) about floods, it is interesting that the Atlantean Flood (dating more or less agrees; folklore-wise it probably only survives in Plato) is attributed to celestial bodies, and Plato goes on to attribute the Greek myth of Phaethon with the events.

After spending several hours with Google Earth going over the entire 300 by 400 mile area of these grooves spaced a mile apart, and expanding down to 50 feet resolution to view some of them in various areas, I absolutely disagree with you. I do not know of and cannot imagine any natural force that would create the uniformity of size and spacing shown here. There are some minor shifts in directionality which would be explained by a different period in history and leadership. Also some areas appear to have had more environmental effects which have caused damage or partial disappearance, but all I can say is take a good long look, up high and down close. And if you can come up with any geophysical rather than human explanation, I would like to hear it.

Well that settles it :-) follow the articles I looked up online afterwards where dozens and dozens of scientists and archaeologists refute it mean nothing now :-)

Are we talking about the same topic. My Comment #53 referred to a previous comment regarding completely different possibly ancient sites near the Okavanga Delta in southern Africa. I was not talking about pyramids in Bosnia. Until you spend a few hours looking over this vast array of parallel lines (canals) in Africa on Google Earth, an article is a pale representation even if it does agree with the premise.

In looking for other Google articles, I found this comment I had left at a Quora site. I still agree with myself almost a year later.

Mar 24, 2019

The photos shown above may be old dunes with vegetation since grown. However, I spent many hours looking at Google Earth and the area indicated as possible ancient irrigation is at least 300 x 300 miles. Also the patterns are much more regular than the “dunes” shown above (at the Quora site). The “canals” are roughly 1 mile apart, the land between them is basically flat, NOT mounded like a dune. There are areas that appear more eroded (more ancient?) than others.

My question is why has not more study been done on this very large area question? Was it a precursor to Great Zimbabwe? Is the “white” world unwilling to imagine that black Africans might have had a major complex civilization many millenia ago? National Geographic, where are you???

Don’t take my word for it. Spend a few hours on Google Earth. Look from high up and search how extensive this area is. Then go to close up and travel across the land from ditch to ditch. Then travel up some of the ditches and see the small huts or communities that occur occasionally along them. Then try to tell yourself these are dunes.

I don't respond to race card BS; and the fact remains, these are natural formations, and there isn't any credible question about it.
