A trio of swing-state senators got a lot of love from their fellow Democrats after voting guilty on two articles of impeachment against President Trump Wednesday, as their colleagues hailed them for political courage.
Immediately after their historic votes, Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va.; Doug Jones, D-Ala., and Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., were rushed by fellow Democrat lawmakers who gave them hugs, pats on the back and handshakes.
As the three undecided Democrats before Wednesdays vote, and under tremendous pressure from all sides, their decision to stick with their party led to an outpouring of support.

By all accounts, Attorney General Morrisey was an excellent candidate. Who would’ve been better ?
Yes they will remember it. President Trump will be concluding his second term, and will like to pay back the treasonous, traitorous scum who participated in this failed coup d’état.
Jones couldn’t get elected against a retired plow mule now. Say what you will about Alabamans (and I’ve had plenty to say, myself), they don’t take kindly to backstabbers.
McCain and Flake usually voted the right way. They ran their mouths. She keeps quiet and votes with the libs. This is the biggest vote she ever had and she blew it. She is dead to me.
He was a weak candidate.
Evan Jenkins would have been better imo.
I believe even Doug Jones knows he’s toast in 2020. He likely figures some Demorat will offer him a cushy job after he leaves the Senate in January 2021. So he still voted to convict Trump.
In 2018, WV elected Republicans to all three of its House districts, gave Republicans control of its legislature and senate and at the same time elected a Rat Senator.
The problem seems to lay more with the WV GOP than with the voters.
Ah, yes. Party over Constitution. Party over country. What scum!
Money over morality.
Cash over conscience.
If the RAT convention ends up being brokered, (and with Biden going Bye-den, it is a good possibility) do not be surprised if Manchin gets the nomination. With Buttgrabber, Fauxahontas and Crazy Bernie as the alternatives, Manchin will appear the most electable to the RATS.
jmo
I will and I will vote against her again with extra pleasure.
Yeah, Jones had that used-car smell to him right out of the box. You have to hand it to the Dims, they came in at exactly the right moment and, rightly or wrongly, tarred and feathered Moore at a critical moment and put Jones in as the ‘Who Else Can You Vote For?’ candidate. It was the perfect setup, and I was one of many who had to agonize over whether we were going to do the right thing by voting for a guy who seemed to have the credentials, but might be a crazy old perv under the surface. Jones came in as Mr. Everyman presenting himself as a ‘centrist’. Who knows? Moore may well have been someone who had a Good Ol’ Boy network around him that kept him out of the local papers. That sort of thing happens all the time, even in 2018. But Moore may well have had his quirks and whatnot dragged through the mud for no other reason than to position Jones for the win. Not for legal reasons, but because Moore was just a native Alabaman acting like an Alabaman. Someone riding his horse to the polling booth isn’t going to look normal to most of the rest of America. Still, notice how all of the furor and smoke over these ‘sexual misconduct’ allegations blew away with the wind as soon as Jones was sworn in? Things that make you go ‘Hmmmmmm........’
No one who likes Trump voted for Sinema so why the in world would she vote against her party?
Yes, Jenkins.
Because he’s an ex-rat good ole boy, more voters who are not used to voting Republican for Senate would have went with him.
We all would have preferred Morrisey I’m sure but I prefer winning to losing. Capito and Jenkins are a shit ton better than Manchin.
Still there is no excuse for losing that race. We (and the President) didn’t pound this piece of garbage hard enough. A rat is a rat is a rat. People like Manchin are as much or even more our enemy than the likes of AOC and friends, at least they are open and honest in their Soviet predilections. Yes, I would say I have less disrespect for Jihad Illhan Omar than I do for Collin “Pelosi for Speaker!” Peterson, the only actual “moderate” rat in Congress. “Pro-life” “Pro-gun” Collin Peterson.
Losing Montana was even worse than WV, weak candidate there came pretty close. But Tester is a hard liberal, the worst Senator from those parts probably since the likes of Frank Church in Idaho. I don’t think any rat Senator is as far to left compared to their state as Tester.
Ohio, let Brown off the hook with a weakish challenger as GOP sweeps the rest of the statewide races.
We could have done so much better in 2018 and not have to worry at all about the Senate this year. We oughta to be closer to 60 than 50.
And we’re letting Tina Smith and Jeanne Shaheen off the hook this time, Trump could carry those state but we’re running at best, b-listers for Senate.
Manchin has cast some huge Votes.
And 99.95% were for the Democrats.
Hes a Typical Democrat who lies around Election time, every damn time.
they get elected because most people are STUPID......really West Virginia, you thought you were voting in a good ol boy?.....he’ll toss you over the cliff as soon as he gets a chance...
Primaries have consequences.
Present is a reliable vote?
Sinema is a closet communist/Marxist. See her record at www.keywiki.org, under her name. Communist Party ties in the 90’s and onwards. Newer ties to the Democratic Socialists of America and other Marxist groups that have sprung up in Arizona in recent years (the state was targeted by the reds for recruitment, esp. in university cities, and it worked. The same for New Mexico and parts of Texas).
The communists are traitors but they ARE NOT STUPID.
Yep
