Marine Le Pen, the president of the French populist right-wing party Rassemblement National (National Rally), congratulated the United Kingdom for regaining its freedom but went on to say that Brexit was a terrifying failure for the European Union.
After multiple twist and turns, the UK has finally regained its freedom. But this is a terrifying failure for the EU, said Ms Le Pen.
We will no doubt see, over the coming months and years, that the UK did the right thing and will probably benefit a great deal. In fact, I have already noticed that the disaster-mongering has already given way to cautious warnings from those who were sure the British people would be ruined, there would be massive unemployment
she added, according to the Brussels Times.

Ping.
England is a productive nation. Italy is one of the PIGS -- Portugal, Italy, Greece, and Spain. The PIGS are welfare states relying on the productive northern European states for their support.
Would Italy be able to support themselves?
At least the first terrifying failure that they’ve been forced to acknowledge.
I’m sure there have been many, many others.
The original signatories of the Treaty of Paris are never going to leave the EUSSR.
The EU made it devilishly difficult for the UK to get out. 4 years, and it’s not over yet. Like marriage, they made it easy to get into it, but horribly painful to get out.
Given that state of affairs, why would any country join the EU?
If Italy cut itself away from the poor, agrarian, Mafia dominated south, it would be a very productive, efficient and prosperous industrial nation. That is why one of the parties that is doing strongly, Lega Nord, was traditionally a seperatist party advocating the seperation of Northern Italy from the South.
Italy is not happy with the EU because the immigration policies hit them very hard, since the Africans can practically swim over there.
However, I don’t think Italy is in a position where they can be financially independent, like Britain.
I am not current on the current Italian economic woes. But didn't the EU bail Italy out when they went bankrupt a few years ago? As I recall, the EU donated money to Italy and made them cut their social program handouts and payments. It was called....Austerity I think. In fact, the EU is still shoveling money to keep Italy solvent if I recall correctly. I can't imagine Italy, being a dependent of their EU masters would run from their sugar daddy.
Maybe there is more to the story.
One of the reasons it took so long, IMO, is that many said that if Brexit actually happens, the EU’s days are numbered. And this hints at my tag line.
As non-PIGS nations leave, the non-PIGS nations still left will be incentivized to leave even faster. Eventually it will be PIGGS, That is, the PIGS and Germany. :D
That is why the German and French oligarchy want a EU military.
They want to stomp on any other nation even considering leaving.
I actually think the countries along the Southern periphery would be better off outside the EU. They long had a habit of overspending and rolling over to various trade unions, government workers, etc.....and then they would devalue the currency which made their goods cheaper and allowed them to inflate away their debts. They can’t do that with the Euro. If you’re not going to have fiscal discipline - which they’re obviously not going to - then its much better to not be locked into a fiscal straitjacket. That just means their goods are uncompetitive and unemployment soars.
Leave the EU and they could reassert control over their borders and put their own people back to work.
I think the good people of Poland have good reason to leave.
Marine Le Pen, the president of the French populist right-wing party Rassemblement National (National Rally)
Yeah no they’re populist but they’re not right wing at all.
Not in the sense of the word in which we use it
But at least they’re not one world govt folks
Northern 1/2 of Italy are great innovators and manufacturers. Yes they would do well if not for the Southern burden.
They have the 8th largest economy in the world so they should be able to support themselves.
Better than being forced to have open borders and have their country slowly disappear.
Per EU site
Total EU spending in Poland: 11.921 billion
Total EU spending as % of Polish gross national income (GNI): 2.67 %
Total Polish contribution to the EU budget: 3.048 billion
Polish contribution to the EU budget as % of its GNI: 0.68 %
Different economic realities, I’d say Poland should stay as long as they can siphon as much money as possible from EU. Resist as much political attempts for influencing their politics as possible. Then leave when asked to contribute more.
Just my $0.02
Prior to BREXIT the EU thanks to UK, Germany, France & other Northern European propped up the economies (of in order of economic need!) Ireland & Italy to some extent, Spain & Greece (Particularly Greece!) With the UK gone more of that burden is going to fall on Germany, France, etc. Of that group France is probably the weakest economically so FREXIT might be next!
