They have the 8th largest economy in the world so they should be able to support themselves.
Better than being forced to have open borders and have their country slowly disappear.
Prior to BREXIT the EU thanks to UK, Germany, France & other Northern European propped up the economies (of in order of economic need!) Ireland & Italy to some extent, Spain & Greece (Particularly Greece!) With the UK gone more of that burden is going to fall on Germany, France, etc. Of that group France is probably the weakest economically so FREXIT might be next!
you do realize that Italy and Greece and others police their non-EU borders (and that’s where the problem comes from) - and the EU strictly enforces borders with non-EU countries.
