Chief Justice of the United States John Roberts blocked Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul from posing a question during the Senate impeachment trial Wednesday that would have named the alleged whistleblower at the center of the case, Fox News is told and Paul may try to force the issue during the question-and-answer session that begins Thursday afternoon.

Link not working for me. By what authority does Roberts disallow the question. There is no law making Ciaramellas name unspeakable.
Does Roberts know that the right to face one’s accuser is recognized in the Magna Carta and the US Constitution?
Chief Justice John Roberts - the GW Bush gift that keeps on giving....
Good luck with it.
Someone accusing a person of committing a crime has no right to anonymity.
This is a trial and whistle-blower protections dont apply. The most valuable right is to confront ones accuser.
Roberts is pwned by our domestic enemies.
The concept of an anonymous whistle blower is contrary to our Constitution that guarantees the right for someone to face his accuser.
He’s probably going by Sharia Law.
lol
He wasn’t even a qualified whistleblower.
Yeah... this whole impeachment thingy is all about “getting to the truth”...
I watched the Q&A yesterday and I didn’t see when this happened.
Was Paul recognized? Was his question brought down to Roberts? Did Roberts say anything? Did he do anything with the question card?
In this role he is presiding over the senate. The question is not a question of law, you are correct that the leaker cum whistleblower has no right to anonymity, ID is not not protected (not a whistleblower), and would not be protected even if he was a whistleblower. 50 U.S. Code S: 3033 - Inspector General of the Intelligence Community
the Inspector General shall not disclose the identity of the employee without the consent of the employee, unless the Inspector General determines that such disclosure is unavoidable during the course of the investigation or the disclosure is made to an official of the Department of Justice responsible for determining whether a prosecution should be undertaken
The senate has decided to hide this highly relevant information from the public. Simple as that. No legal authority, just politics. The senate wants to keep you in the dark. Roberts, presiding over these proceedings, is following orders of the senate.
The better approach is to get the ID of the whistleblower directly either by making the complaint public or by questioning IG Michael Atkinson about it.
Meanwhile the GOP has to beg AG Barr to expose Horowitz’ shenanigans — which of course he won’t.
Does anyone expect anything other than jack boots vs patriots in the near future?
Roberts is owned by the Deep State and will do what he can to bias the process IMO.
so this was voted on as part of McConnell/Schumer rules governing the trial?
The whistleblower is blowing more than whistles.
