Texas Republican congressional candidate Pierce Bush, 33, said Wednesday that he believes President Trump deserves to be re-elected.

Appearing on "Fox & Friends" with host Steve Doocy, Bush -- who is a grandson of the late President George H.W. Bush -- said that upon examination of the president's results during his first term in office, they're "hard to argue with." He cited record-low unemployment numbers and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Trade Deal.

"He is a strong fighter for our nation's national security," said Bush. "You know, the most important job a president has is keeping our country safe and defending our liberties and President Trump has kept his word and is doing a good job.

My biggest beef with George W. is that when he was Governor of Texas, he lived 300 miles from the Mexican border. He knew what was going on at the Texas border.

Got into the White House and did nothing about it.

Two years ago, Kathaleen Wall ran in my district, and single-handedly made it the most expensive Congressional primary in the country that year. I received at least 3-5 mailers every week from her campaign. It was very annoying.

Despite all her spending, she came in third and missed the runoff. Dan Crenshaw edged her out by half a point and, of course, ultimately won the election.

My first thought exactly!

Remember Janet Napolitano’s words on her campaign trail and then the leftward turn she did after the election.

Happens dozens of times each election cycle.

" According to his official bio, Neil Bush “develops international business opportunities.” He is chairman of Singhaiyi, a Singapore company investing in U.S. real estate; co-chairman of CIIC, a property development business in China; and chairman of A&A Consulting, a global platform that attracts Asian capital for investments in health care, education and food in the United States."

Your first post to me adds nothing to the topic at hand.

Re-read what I said, especially the last part of that post.

You have a choice, continue to make insults that are the typical democrat way, or try to be civil/rational.

Attacking/insulting someone with a different opinion is hardly an effective way to convince others to join you.

Surely you know that.

Further replies from you will likely reflect poorly on your maturity. It is clear you simply don’t understand polite discourse as a way to sway someone your way.

A snarky initial post because someone has an opinion that is different from yours? Really?

To me, because he is a very vocal supporter of Trump, this shows he is not a Bush clone.

I could see voting for him in the general if he wins the primary; but no way I'll vote for a Bush in the primary.

After all the damage done to this country by the Bush family you want to give them one more chance to finish the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA), just because this Bush hasn’t yet played a role in that.

Sorry won’t get fooled again.

We saw this with Reagan. Republicans who despised Reagan before he was President, suddenly loved him, and then the moment Reagan left the White House, it was right back to “business as usual.”

Did I say I’d support him in the primary?

All I said was given he is his own man, generations away from the Georges, I am a fair guy and willing to let him be heard.

At what point do the sins of the grandfather, father, uncles pass away?

Two, ten, twenty generations from now, will the knee-jerk response to a Bush be hostile because he came from a “bad” family?

I am a fiercely loyal Texan, fiscal supporter of Empower Texans (https://empowertexans.com/). They report negative things about Pierce. Great, but I read from many different sources and make up my own mind. I’m still studying the person (and reportage).

Is no one allowed to examine a person, look at his positions, and then make their own judgment? Am I to ping you so you can dictate to me who/what I MUST be for or against?

I can’t believe FR has devolved into an irrational clearing house where people are immediately questioned about their fidelity to conservative principles if that person has the discipline to read and study all sides of a person or position.

Democrats don’t allow for honest exchange of thoughts, they silence dissenters. Are we to do that as well?

He was the only Bush who publically endorsed Trump in 2016.
