Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) released a statement in response to new allegations that involve former National Security Advisor John Bolton's unpublished book about his time at the White House under President Trump.
The New York Times reported Bolton's book states Trump tied the Ukraine military aid to the country's officials helping investigate the former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, because he was on the board of gas company Burisma.
Multiple Senate Democrats have come out to say Bolton must testify in the ongoing impeachment trial in light of the allegation.
Meadows said Democrats are becoming desperate if they're clinging to 'anonymous sources' leaking information at the last minute.
"Were talking about an unpublished manuscript that only anonymous sources have seen, leaked by someone at the 11th hour, just as Democrats are losing what little impeachment momentum they had left. Weve seen this playbook used before. Americans wont buy it," Meadows said in a statement.
"The latest New York Times report may provide fodder for a political narrative, but it doesnt change the facts. And in reality, the facts havent changed since day one of this circus. The call transcript shows zero link between aid and political investigations. The aid was ultimately released with no political investigations from Ukraine. Ukraines leadership had no knowledge of the hold on aid until an August 29 media report," he continued. "President Zelensky and President Trump both say 'no pressure.' And in five U.S.-Ukraine meetings between the hold and release of aid, not one time was any link between aid and political investigations discussed."
Meadows said Trump's impeachment was the result of him fighting to "drain the swamp."
Indeed he will.
In his mind's eye, he sees himself as President, riding a great white horse in his special underwear.
Actually, Bolton did make a statement saying that he never said Trump had told him that he was conditioning the aid on it, and even the first NYT leak only said that Bolton thought that Trump would have preferred to see action first. Of course, when other media sources picked it up, they just announced it without that distinction.
one article claims that someone who worked with bolton is stating that he was present when trump said the aid was connected to investigation
I have an idea. If this manuscript is at the NSC for review, then Trump should have it released ASAP.
It would screw Johnny Bolton to have his book read by everyone for free.
Please do this Mr. President.
Do it now.
I believe pjmedia is connected with the same company Salem Media Group as Redstate.

I’m sort of leaning towards witness testimony at this point.
Where was he quoted. I don't doubt you, I'd just like to see what he had to say.
I think he actually DOES ride a white horse, as opposed to a red, black, or pale horse. The pestilence that is the left wing sentiment that is trying to grow in the US, and is oh, too prevalent here in Kanadahar.
Has anybody READ John Bolton’s book, and not just rumors about what the manuscript MIGHT say?
The NYT as a news source has gotten pretty dicey and unreliable as of late.
His book isn’t released yet, Simon & Schuster says it’s release date is in March.
It is the same strategy used on Kavanaugh.

Yes.
Goes all the way back to Clarence Thomas, 27 years ago.
Hearings are wrapping up, it looks like he’s going to be approved by the Senate to the SCOTUS, and then a raw FBI report is leaked to Nina Totenberg of NPR. First reports are that the unidentified woman (Anita Hill) does not want to go public and testify. That doesn’t work to get Thomas to withdraw or scare off enough votes for him, so then the witness comes forward and does testify.
And it was the same thing Comey used in 2017 to get Moeller appointed as a special council. Comey leaks confidential memos to NYT via his accomplice and it works.
It’s a very old playbook.
"No mercy and no quarter to traitors!"
They never report on books accusing the Dems of corruption. When did Bolton have time to write a book?
Yes it is.
