Devin Nunes: John Bolton was warned about Obama holdovers who 'spy' in Trump White House

Former national security adviser John Bolton was advised to purge potentially biased holdovers from the Obama administration from the Trump White House, according to a top Republican in Congress.

House Intelligence Committee ranking member Devin Nunes said on Thursday that he warned Bolton, whom Democrats want to testify in the Senate impeachment trial against President Trump, of an anti-Trump spying operation by members of the National Security Council. The California congressman also said he told H.R. McMaster, who preceded Bolton, and Robert O'Brien, the current national security adviser, to take steps to cull what he called a "den of thieves."

"I have said this over and over and over again. I said this to McMaster, I said it to Bolton, and I said it to the new national security adviser, O’Brien, that they just need to get all those people out of there," Nunes told Fox News host Tucker Carlson. "If you were there and worked for Obama and you were a holdover, just, you know, get a used building somewhere on the other side of the Potomac. Just get them out of there. They have done so much damage to the presidency. I couldn’t agree with you more."

Carlson asked why it appears to be so difficult to remove these officials when a new president is elected and a new government is set up, to which Nunes replied, "I have no idea."

Devin Nunes is one of the very few people on the Hill who cause me to believe that the Republic may survive.

I didn’t vote for Obama holdovers to exist. Not sure what happened.

Good question...

I’ve liked Bolton for a long time, but the rumors of him getting ready to say negative things about Trump caused me to step back.

I hope those were just rumors.

If not, I’m not going to be very happy with him.

Trump runs foreign policy. That’s just a simple fact.

“...IDIOTS! You FIRE ALL Obama holdovers on the very 1st day!!...”

IMHO, Trump’s single biggest mistake of his term. Not cleaning house immediately. The problems have been many...

Oh Heavens to Betsy! John Bolton IS deep state. Pitifully, Breitbart is madly in love with Bolton, which should tell you much about their priorities.

I imagine Trump was “advised” NOT to fire them, by one of the many lying back stabbers who pretended they were on his side. And Trump, being a nice guy, and a Washington neophyte, thought he could trust his advisors. On 1/21/20, I hope he cleans house wholesale, and throws out every stinking Obama/Clinton leftover.

My gut tells me that the President fired to get John safely out of the White House and away from the Ambassadors who would soon attack the President.

One by one they testified against the President. Only Bolton remained loyal.

Broadly speaking, because Bush Jr couldn’t get rid of hardly any Clinton holdovers, (as the Dems and left of moderate RINO’s in Congress wouldn’t let him have his picks early on), we have gone 24 years into a Clinton devised 30 plan to control and fill the IC, State Dep, DOJ/FBI with leadership personnel who were/are globalists and leftists.

The DoD was another big-time target of the left wing.

One of the ways they made it happen, was through a fusion of federally mandated “civil rights” and forced acceptance and hiring, and then adherence to pro “gay” and “LGBTQ” fed policies. Many general staff officers walked away, while there was strong “virtue” signalling going out to potential recruits, and even more left-wing college graduates. Defense contractors have played a really big part in this, as they too were under the same strictly enforced federal guidelines. The problem with “contractors”, they recruit from colleges/universities, and often have 70%-85% percent non-military employees.

From decades of experience, these tend to be left-wing to far left-wing federal employees, very often hired into the IC!

This is one of the big reasons for Northern Virginia turning flaming blue.

When you hire pro LGBTQ, you almost always simultaneously hire a socialist and globalist.

The Clinton Administration knew this, and set out to make it happen.

Why is it that politicians trust Obama?

John Bolton was "fired" on September 10, 2019

The aid was released the following day.

My gut tells me..the President was protecting John from the parade of ambassadors who would engage in "the impeachment scam".

In time....My gut says...be patient.

President Trump’s two first-term mistakes: Not firing all Obama bureaucrat holdovers, and failing to force the WALL through in the way the RATs forced Obamacare through when they had both houses and the presidency.

Re: “Do what the boss (Trump) would do: FIRE them on the spot.”

What?

Trump did not fire ANY of Obama’s second tier people.

Even after Trump publicly accused them of spying on his 2016 campaign.

Incomprehensible negligence.

Re: “The RATs made replacing staff difficult by delaying appointments in the Senate.”

Trump could have fired all 3,000 Obama appointees on his first day in office.

If the Senate rejected or slow walked Trump's appointees, so what?

Just leave every job vacant.

If the senior department bureaucrats need a decision or a signature, tell them to drive over to the Oval Office and explain the problem.

Do what the boss(Trump) would do: FIRE them on the spot.

On the spot?

It took Trump two years to fire that rat bastard, Jeff Sessions.

Good grief. You can't fire 500+ members of the National Security Council. You can't do it...you need continuity. Next, Obamacare passed because the democrats had 60 votes in the Senate to pass Obamacare. They needed 60 votes and got it. The republicans have only 53 votes in the senate and they would have needed 60.

There was no hope of changing the 60 vote threshold since since at least 3 republicans said they would not vote to change the rules...this was when the republicans had 51 seats.

CIAramella, Misko and Vindman were three of the spies.

Vindman is still there!
