Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) is suing Hillary Clinton for defamation over the former secretary of state's remarks on a podcast characterizing the Democratic presidential candidate as a Russian asset.
Gabbard filed the defamation lawsuit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Gabbards lawyers allege that Clintons comments have smeared Gabbards political and personal reputation.
Tulsi Gabbard is a loyal American civil servant who has also dedicated her life to protecting the safety of all Americans, Gabbards lawyer Brian Dunne said in a statement.
Rep. Gabbards presidential campaign continues to gain momentum, but she has seen her political and personal reputation smeared and her candidacy intentionally damaged by Clintons malicious and demonstrably false remarks.

Hopefully, Gabbard has a good security team around her.
You go girl. Sue the pantsuit off her.
Hope she sues her pant suits off.
I hope Gabbard wins big. It’s mind boggling how people on the left can just make stuff up, very damaging stuff, and not get challenged.
And some ceramic plates for her vest.
Look at me! Look at me! Nuisance lawsuit given that Rep. Gabbard is a public figure.
If smearing a public figure’s reputation is suit-worthy, the list of plaintiffs against Trump would be 30 blocks long.
Nothing! Its a publicity thing, it will be a quick out of court settlement. Hoping for Hillary’s 127M is fantasy. Hillary will apologize (sincerely of course) and the feud will end. That’s my take.
hell no, the stench would ruin the atmosphere...
Smart move on TGs part. Everyone hates Hillary.
You are probably right but HRC issuing a real apology seems unlikely so there is that.
——Thats my take.-—
I will not disagree but raise the possibility that there enough Democrats who believe that Hillary is a worn out nuscence detrimental to the party that will take positions that will prevent the apology and settlement.
There is an opportunity to get rid of her ....... take it
Not so sure. The standard is knowing falsehood or reckless disregard for the truth. Maybe, just maybe. Perhaps at the very least this could be a case that results in SCOTUS reversing that abomination, New York Times v Sullivan. Getting rid of Sullivan would go a long way in restoring sanity in the media
good.
Exactly. She is a public figure. Unfortunately, her lawsuit is stupid.
This stunt goes nowhere.
Hillary will say she didn’t mean that Tulsi was a Russian asset in the sense of being a controlled operative; rather, she was an unwitting tool on the “plus” side of the Russian agitation ledger. If it gets that far, which it won’t.
It is worth it to show that damn Hillary that everyone is over her. Hillary is a has been.
