Protesters in Puerto Rico called for Gov. Wanda Vazquez to resign Monday after stores of relief supplies were found unused in a locked warehouse over the weekend as the island reels from a powerful earthquake.
Dozens gathered outside La Fortaleza, Puerto Ricos governors mansion, banging on frying pans, denouncing Vazquez and holding signs with messages including Government, Absent, Criminal, Negligent.
I have never come out to protest but this caused me so much anger and indignation, protester Rubi Oliveras told El Vocero newspaper. How is it possible that you say you care about the country and yet you let so many people die while hiding these supplies?

It is time to cut Puerto Rico loose.
I remember, soon after that hurricane departed, there was some type worker strike by the docks.
That claim was hotly contested by our MSM, Snopes, etc., all saying the problem was because less than 20% of truck drivers returned to work.
But... According to the local TV station WAPA, the strike is over a recently passed law: el proyecto del Senado 525 que da paso a la Ley de Transformación Administrativa de la Comisión de Servicio Público, also called el Proyecto del Senado 525.
So, were 80% of PR truck drivers unable, or unwilling, to help their own people after such a disaster? Hmm...
The Mississippi governor and the State of Mississippi responded well before, during and after Katrina. It was the Louisiana Governor and the Mayor of New Orleans that were handwringing incompetents before, during and after Katrina. Katrina actually hit Mississippi and did an inordinate amount of damage whereas Louisiana's damage was due to neglect to the infrastructure and the incompetence of the Democrat leaders. Mississippi's people, churches, and government were out in force helping immediately after Katrina headed North. She even hit us here in North Mississippi. Mississippi's response was as a complete opposite of that of Louisiana's.
>>Isnt this how the last governor got tossed out as well?<<
I was there (across the street from the governor’s residence) and it was NUTS.
Of course, the cruise ships will once again bypass San Juan which will crash the local economy again.
But after squandering $3 billion what are few million (not that the locals in PR saw a dime)?
It took me a while but I actually had affection for the denizens there.
This is just more anger and sadness piled on top of anger and sadness.
Note: The governor pro tem said she will not run for reelection from day 1 of her appointment. Something tells me she will just say “the heck with it — you are on your own” and move to Manhattan.
...after mob finds relief supplies...
Mob, my ass, partisan media shill alert.
Unused water bottles meant for Puerto Rican hurricane victims still litter farmland
Over 1-1/2 years after Hurricane Maria...
Hope not, I'm going in a few weeks ...
Because leftist women are much superior at running governments. NOT..
running their big leftist mouths that they are most proficient at.
I doubt if supplies were hidden. Its incompetence.
WRONG! It is corruption.
The PR gov’t entity that had control of these supplies rented space from another PR gov’t entity in a contract for three years at close to $200,000/year just to dtore those supplies. Where that money ended up is anyone’s guess. But I’d bet that that contract ALSO ended up as collateral for some kind of loan as well.

I know, “Never ascribe to corruption what can easily be explained by incompetence”.....HOWEVER, realize that without the incompetent, the corrupt will not succeed.
That’s how they store stuff? Haven’t they ever heard of pallet racks.
Double check.
But frankly, San Juan is an armpit for the most part.
You won’t be missing much.
So when are the people suffering through it gonna hang their corrupt politicians from lampposts? That needed to happen yesterday
Any word from that punk Alex Cora?
Yeah.. Who could forget Gov Blanco and Mayor Nagin.. Corrupt, Incompetent Clowns.
Some non patriotic politicians also used the fiasco to try and undermine the Jones Act.
Probably not :)
And the truckers Union refused to deliver whatever was salvageable.
Too much food we send ends up that way.
Like the food sent to African countries where warlords either hoard it or let it rot.
America is incredibly generous but we can’t also go to war to make sure the food gets to the right people.
I don’t have twitter, but since she says the officials (her included RIGHT????) are either incompetent or corrupt, is she planning on resigning?
